Ruin Exploration (Bonus Chapter)

In Dreller Forest south of Kangwa Town, a river rushed in from afar and wound around a small hill not far away.

One side of the hill's cliff was completely bare, revealing pure black stone. Under the Crimson Moon's light, it looked rather gloomy and terrifying from a distance.

At the bend in the river beneath the hill, two girls carrying various tools and dressed in white shirts and black trousers stood around a concealed underground entrance. They were Emma and Fanny, who had secretly left the inn in the middle of the night.

"Fanny, did you dig out this entrance?" Emma looked over the passage after its camouflage had been removed. Her brows furrowed involuntarily as she asked her Friend beside her.

Fanny fiddled with the mechanical instrument in her hand, seemingly detecting something. Only after a while did she answer, "Take a look at the marble walls in that passage. Anyone who thinks about it for a moment will know that I couldn't possibly have dug it out."

"According to the records in the book, wasn't that baron's castle buried by a mudslide? How could there be an entrance... Could last week's torrential rain have changed the terrain and exposed one of the castle's passages?" Emma asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Why don't you use Divination to check?" Fanny took three metal cubes the size of shoeboxes from her Backpack and said teasingly.

Emma rolled her eyes at that and chided her, "You know perfectly well that I'm not good at Divination..."

"So stop saying things that kill the mood... We're already here. Can you really stand not exploring and just turn around and go back?"
