Fierce Battle

Fors hurried toward Kinster Street. Then she heard someone call her name. She looked around at once, but saw no one.

At that moment, a figure dropped from the sky and landed in front of her.

The unexpected sight startled Fors into stumbling back several steps. She nearly fell.

She raised a hand to her forehead, barely shielding her eyes from the rain, and finally saw that it was Abner—the very person she had been looking for.

Delight flashed across Fors's face. Forgetting how bedraggled she looked, she rushed forward and grabbed him. "Xio left in such a hurry. The more I thought about it, the more I felt something was wrong. She might be in trouble! So I came to ask for your help..."

Before she could finish, Abner interrupted. "I know. I'm on my way to find her too!"

"You know?" Fors froze, then quickly caught on. Wiping rain from her face, she pleaded, "Take me with you! You know there's always a safe way out when I'm around."

She raised the bracelet on her wrist, which had only three stones left.

Abner looked at her and weighed the matter for a moment. At last, he nodded. "Then come with us."

"Us?" Fors blinked, wondering if she had misheard.

Only when a strange spirit lifted her into the air did she belatedly realize that another woman stood beside Abner, her face impossible to make out.

In front of a house on Tuck Street, several monsters burst out. The woman in the Golden Mask seemed to have sensed them coming. She thrust out her right palm and spoke in a low voice in Ancient Hermes:

"Imprisonment!"

In an instant, the monsters charging toward her, Xio, and the other agents froze in place. Layer upon layer of transparent walls
