On the outskirts of Tingen stood a house with a lush green lawn.

Its garden had already begun to wither in early September, and it had a dark red chimney.

A middle-aged man stepped into the bedroom. He had dark blond hair, one blind eye, a deep blue pupil so dark it was almost black, a high nose, tightly pressed lips, and features as sharply defined as a statue's, without a single wrinkle. He took a fountain pen and an ordinary notebook from his pocket and placed them on the table.
