An Uneventful Dinner

West Borough, Charles Cemetery.

Kuhn, the former captain of the Mandated Punishers team and now an internal guard; McConner, the current captain, who had successfully advanced to Ocean Songster; Evan, who seemed to have grown up considerably and shed his childishness; and Matthew, who had finally recovered from his injuries and returned to the team—four official Beyonders carried a coffin over and lowered it into a grave dug in advance.

This was a belated funeral. The only people present were members of the Backlund Mandated Punishers team and Stewart, the Mysticism Mentor who had retrieved Wind-blessed Robert's remains from MI9.

Robert's funeral had actually been held over a month ago. But at the time, Rosago had turned him into a Marionette. To spare his family further grief, they had used an illusion to deceive the friends and relatives who attended...

This time, they were truly saying farewell to his remains...

After Stewart, acting as the priest, delivered the eulogy, the mourners prayed as earth began to fill the grave, gradually covering the black coffin.

Once the grave was filled and the stone slab set in place, the Mandated Punishers slowly departed. Only Kuhn held back, addressing Stewart, who walked at the rear. "Still no word on Rosago?"

After learning from MI9 that the man who had killed Robert was a Marionettist working for the Intis ambassador, the members of the Backlund Mandated Punishers team had wanted nothing more than to raze the embassy and show them what the People of Wrath truly were.

But Beckland had just been assassinated, and Rosago's whereabouts were unknown. Once they cooled down, they understood that making a move now would only draw suspicion onto themselves and leave them taking the blame for the Aurora Order.

The others could hold back, but Kuhn could not.
