As Princess Vera issued one edict after another, every means of escape available to the black-clad Scribe failed. He stared in horror at the tall woman who had stood at the market entrance all along, unable to believe he had drawn the pursuit of a Demigod.
Even before a Demigod, though, he had no intention of surrendering. His one slim chance of escape was to use the ordinary people present to create chaos. Official Beyonders always cared about innocent lives.
With that thought, he was about to unleash the Demoness of Affliction's "disease," which he had recorded, when an inexplicable sigh sounded beside his ear:
"Have the people of the Tamara Family fallen this far too?"
Before the words had faded, he saw the tall, valiant-looking woman at the entrance clench her right hand into a fist and bring it down sharply!
"Execution!"
Glass shattered. The man's original body broke apart, and he staggered into view beside Xio, who had been ready for him and easily subdued him with "Imprisonment."
Although the Mirror Substitution Method had saved him again, this time he had failed to avoid the damage entirely. His injuries were severe enough to leave him unable to fight!
Princess Vera withdrew the protection she had placed over the ordinary people in the market, then walked over and strengthened the restraint on the Scribe. Only then did she "incarcerate" the other two Assassins as well.
