Owen Delien had noticed some furtive moves by the White Saintess Katarina a few days earlier.
He hadn't thought much of them at first. But even after a session to "reinforce desire," she still hadn't revealed whom she had met. That put Owen on guard.
After questioning her, he discovered that Katarina wasn't resisting. She genuinely couldn't say the person's name.
Owen spent several days planning. He also sought the chairman's help and spent the merit he had saved to secure an angel's brief attention. Only then did he cautiously approach the abandoned church on Williams Street.
He ran through a series of tests. Once he was sure there was no danger, he entered the church and searched it.
He found nothing except an open metal box that caught his eye.
"What is this? It feels dangerous, but it has no tangible power..." Owen hesitated, then used a Sealed Artifact to seal the box. He decided to take it to the other council members for identification the next time he attended a Psychology Alchemists Review Council meeting in Eden.
After securing the box, he inspected the abandoned church several more times. Certain that the mysterious person who had contacted Katarina had left, he departed Williams Street through a dream and returned to the embassy.
After performing a ritual to thank the angel, Owen felt the gaze that had been watching him disappear. He then summoned Katarina and questioned her at length, learning only that she had revealed nothing about herself.
