Boom!
The deafening blast was like thunder, and silver light illuminated half the sky.
Then, flames and choking black smoke erupted skyward like a soaring dragon.
The bird Pokémon that had finally settled down were startled into flight once more, scattering in all directions as they hurriedly avoided whatever threat might come.
Their noisy cries made many Wild Pokémon fleeing for their lives raise their heads.
Some looked toward the horizon in panic, while others were simply bewildered.
Was it Thunder?
Thunder often accompanied the endless dark clouds. Such dazzling displays of heavenly might always left them uneasy. A few years ago, lightning had split a Great Tree and started a wildfire. If not for the plentiful water sources nearby and the cool, damp weather, their homes might well have been burned to ashes.
"Ruriri..."
The round-bodied Azumarill worriedly watched the direction from which the flames had come. After exchanging looks with its companions, it steeled its resolve and decided to run back to see what was happening.
If they could put out the fire, they would. If they could not, they would turn around and flee again.
The landslide had already destroyed their homes. They could not simply allow a wildfire to ravage this forest as well.
Once the Azumarill moved, the other Wild Pokémon reacted too. The timid ones stopped where they were, trembling with fear, while the braver ones gritted their teeth and followed.
Without a doubt, this was one of the differences between Pokémon and most wild animals.
Just like the Feraligatr in Genesect and the Legend Awakened, which had bravely defended its home against the Genesect army before helping put out the fire.
In the mountains and wilderness, there were also Absol that warned others of disasters, and Azumarill that refused to abandon their homes
