It took Freya half a day to calm down. Then she tried to control the enormous Bone Claw before her.

When she became a Necromancer, a host of basic concepts about supernatural beings had entered her mind, along with the fundamentals of Necromancer training and the Meditation Method. As his precious Number One test subject, she had received the full treatment from Green to help her get started as quickly as possible. He wanted to see how she would develop as a Transcendent, what she might give him in return, and whether she was worth an investment of time and resources.

Half an hour later, Freya could control the Bone Claw with growing ease. She was thrilled, but also tired. After all, she was only a novice Necromancer apprentice. Even with her exceptional talent and powerful mental strength, maintaining the Bone Claw Spell for half an hour was taxing.

Freya dismissed the Bone Claw Spell, breathing lightly. But the fear and panic had vanished from her beautiful eyes. Her newfound power had transformed her. The thugs and brutes who once terrified her now seemed like nothing more than slightly stronger ants.

"Selina, I'll come find you soon," Freya whispered. Her mind made up, she remained on the rooftop with her knees hugged to her chest, silently waiting for her Magic Power to recover.

Through their Faith Power connection, Green watched Freya's every move and nodded faintly. The girl was impressive. Though she was desperate to find her sister, she had not rushed out recklessly. She was patient beyond her years.

By a little after seven, darkness had fallen. Freya quietly ate the food her sister had left her: dry, hard bread and a flask of cooled
