In the night sky, a black Airship loomed like a giant beast, appearing and disappearing among the clouds.
Suddenly, a silver-gray pillar of light shot into the sky in the distance!
Kigang, at the front, narrowed his eyes. An imposing aura burst from him as he raised his Dragon-Hunting Rifle. "Comrades, move out!"
"For the Leader!" the three hundred shouted fervently. One after another, they leaped without hesitation from the Airship into the fierce wind. They plummeted until they were less than two hundred meters above the ground. With a soft pop, white shapes flashed as wings unfolded from the backs of their Alchemy Mecha, abruptly checking their descent. Riding the air currents, they glided deep into the Zevar Desert.
In the darkness, the three-hundred-strong assault force looked like a flock of great birds. Their Alchemy Mecha were as black and hard as their resolve. Following a carefully prepared plan, they reached their designated positions, split into ten squads of thirty, and scattered toward the Underground Factory's ten exits.
By then, the silver-gray pillar had begun to fade, but the turmoil inside the Underground Factory was only beginning.
The silver-gray light from the Mechanical God's arm had erupted from the deepest part of the Underground Factory. It punched straight through the twelve floors above, killed and injured countless people in an instant, and ruptured the factory's energy supply lines.
The massive Underground Factory had been built here because an enormous Underground Volcano lay beneath Lake Zevar. The Sison Kingdom had drilled down to it and diverted the rivers that once fed the lake underground. There, volcanic heat boiled the water, generating vast amounts of Steam Power for the entire factory.
That was the real reason Lake Zevar had dried up and become the desert it was today.
