"Goddess of the Night!" The terrifying consciousness known as Cromwell turned its attention from the distant Void. A wave of fury erupted from him.
What the Goddess of the Night had just said had clearly enraged the powerful Outer God. The god created through Isabelle's body had not been made from nothing, either. She was Cromwell's daughter, brought back to life!
The Goddess of the Night had planned this from the start. She meant not only to grow stronger by devouring an Outer God, but also to strike back at her enemy.
"Hahaha!" The Goddess of the Night laughed wildly. "Well, Cromwell? Where's all that swagger and savagery now? Weren't you going to kill me? You vile, stupid swine. I'm going to eat your daughter and rob her of any chance of resurrection! That's the price you pay for making an enemy of me!"

She had probably feared that any clearer trace of her involvement would tip Cromwell off too soon.
"Regret it!" the Goddess of the Night shrieked. Ignoring the gaze fixed on her from far Beyond the Void, she wheeled toward the newborn Outer God below and hurled a stream of pitch-black Divine Power down
