"Steward Laurence, go and fetch Green." After reaching an agreement with the three people from the Anomalies Bureau, Viscount Paul ordered Steward Laurence to bring Green over. In Viscount Paul's eyes, although Peter and his companions had the bureau's intelligence behind them, they were still outsiders. The person he could truly rely on to find Penny was Green, so he had stipulated that Green accompany them.
Peter and his companions had long heard the name Green Wilson, but they knew nothing of his true strength. They merely regarded him as a lucky newcomer. Though privately unimpressed, they raised no objections.
A few minutes later, Green arrived in Viscount Paul's study, neatly dressed. After exchanging pleasantries and explaining the situation to one another, Green readily joined Paul's three-person team.
They left Wilson Castle in the Anomalies Bureau's carriage, which now held four passengers instead of the three who had arrived in it.
Expressionless, Peter took out a booklet and began leafing through it, while Shirley studied Green curiously. She harbored some suspicion and disdain toward this apprentice Necromancer with a somewhat dubious background. This was a common failing among most Anomalies Bureau agents: they thought highly of themselves, held their heads in the clouds, and always carried themselves as though everyone else were theirs to order around.
Though Shirley was a newcomer, she came from a distinguished background. Having absorbed such attitudes from childhood, she had picked up some of those habits herself. The other newcomer, by contrast, was more easygoing and poor at socializing. He remained quiet, only occasionally meeting someone's eyes and offering a slight smile and nod.
