Though they were safe for the moment, Sea God Poseidon's protection naturally repelled Anubis's aura. As a result, Wikina and the others had not appeared near the enormous Magic Array as Ailing had. Instead, they had entered the third level of Anubis's tomb.
They had barely arrived, before anyone could make out their surroundings, when a horde of Undead attacked.
Fortunately, none of those who had accompanied Wikina was weak. They struck back at once, driving the surging Undead into retreat.
But there were simply too many Undead. Anubis had once been the God of Death and master of the River of the Underworld. Even fallen, he was still a dead camel bigger than a living horse.
The third level, in particular, had been the chamber where Anubis lay at rest. The Undead guarding it were most numerous here.
As more enemies poured in with every one they killed, a faint smile appeared on Wikina's face.
By now, he was certain this was the ancient God of Death Anubis's tomb. He put the odds at over ninety percent.
Confirming that was the true purpose of his visit.
For that, no sacrifice was too great.
"My lord, there are too many enemies! We can't hold out much longer," an Orc expert warned anxiously. Watching their companions fall one after another, everyone feared that, at this rate, they would all die sooner or later.
Wikina said calmly, "Don't worry. His Majesty the great Sea God will protect us."
Hearing such bullshit, the others, frantic with worry, wanted to curse him to his face.
Unfortunately, Wikina was powerful and a Sea Knight. They could only swallow their anger and mutter a few curses inwardly.
Fortunately, Wikina was not truly indifferent. He immediately reported the situation.
