South Blue

If the Grand Line was paradise for pirates, then the four seas—north, south, east, and west—were where ordinary people could truly live in peace.

In size, climate, and nearly every other respect, the Four Blues were far kinder to ordinary people than the Grand Line.

Over the centuries, those four seas had produced countless heroes and given rise to countless legends.

And among the Four Blues, the East Blue was certainly not the Weakest Sea. Pirate King Roger's name alone was enough to make it famous, even before the legend of Garp the Hero was taken into account.

The true Weakest Sea at the time was the South Blue.

That was precisely why the South Blue had become one of the most prosperous of the Four Blues. Known for its many service and manufacturing industries, this sea might have been the real paradise, far from the chaos and bloodshed of the Grand Line.

Baterilla Island was one example. A huge island famous for tourism, its mild climate, pleasant sunshine, and beautiful coastline drew visitors in droves.

As a result, Baterilla Island had attracted a population of nearly a million.

But that was history. Six months ago, World Government ships had arrived and sealed off the entire island. Since then, Baterilla Island had become isolated from the rest of the South Blue.

Four warships blockaded its four ports, while two more patrolled the waters around it without pause.

Armed Cipher Pol agents in black suits stood on alert and patrolled the island.

A blockade of that scale inevitably disrupted the residents' lives. Many could barely make ends meet. Yet no matter how often they tried to negotiate, they always received the same answer.

"Once we find Pirate King Roger's child, the blockade will be lifted..."

That was hardly an easy task.
