The Revolutionary Army had just finished fighting the Marines and the Blackbeard Pirates. To keep the Marines from tracking them to their base, they had come here for a brief rest.
In a world filled with drifting cherry blossoms, the Revolutionary Army's leader Dragon, top officer Big Bear, commander Ivankov, the commanders from the Four Blues who had taken part in the battle, and a young man named Sabo sat around a table.
Ivankov held a newspaper. Looking at the report on Sabo, he excitedly pressed down on Sabo's head and said,
"Sabo boy, you're going to be famous across the seas from today on!"
Confidence shone on Sabo's face, though his reply was modest.
"You're giving me too much credit, Ivankov. I've still got a long way to go compared to the chief, Mr. Kuma, and you."
Dragon looked at Sabo with satisfaction, remembering when he had first met the boy at sea. The memory stirred a flood of emotion.
"You don't need to be modest, Sabo. From tracking down the intelligence and drawing up the plan to stopping Sakazuki at the end, you played a decisive role. Without you, our plan to rescue Bonney wouldn't have gone so smoothly."
Dragon then looked around the table and said,
"I have a proposal. You all saw how Sabo performed in this operation. I want to make him the Revolutionary Army's chief of staff. What do you think?"
Everyone voiced their wholehearted agreement.
Sabo's intelligence, composure, and strength during the operation had won them all over.
Sabo, on the other hand, was startled. He hurriedly waved his hands.
"I can't, chief. I'm too young."
"Being young has never been a problem. What matters is that you're capable, Sabo!"
