Background / History

Ji Ziyue was raised in the Ji Family and extensively studied East Desolation history and ancient scripts. She identifies the Bronze Immortal Palace as a site her family had sought as a secret energy point tied to the Ji Family’s revival. While exploring the palace with Gu Sheng, she translates ancient writing and explains the dangers and treasures they encounter. 389 391 393

After being restrained by Gu Sheng during their escape from the palace, Ji Ziyue bargains with the Ji Family’s Void Ancient Scripture for her freedom. She transcribes it for him, and later the Divine Light Talisman Escape releases the restraints sealing her Sea of Suffering, restoring her strength. 394 395

She refuses to return immediately to the Ji Family, describing its internal feuds, power struggles, and threats against her as suffocating. To avoid recognition, she disguises herself with heavy makeup and enters the Tai Xuan Sect alongside Gu Sheng. 396

At Tai Xuan Sect, Ji Ziyue climbs the Nine-story Xuan Tower to its summit, triggering the rare Spirit Light. Although she initially chooses Clumsy Peak with Gu Sheng, her potential earns her an invitation to Spirit Peak. She later remains connected to Clumsy Peak after Ji Hong allows her the freedom to stay there. 398 409

When Gu Sheng publicizes his discovery of the Bronze Immortal Palace, Ji Ziyue tries to pursue him despite Ji Hong’s objections. She is forced back to the Ji Family, then becomes caught in the Peacock King’s assault on the family. Ji Haoyue sends her away through a domain gate; she is injured during the escape and lands near Gu Sheng, who treats her damaged heart meridian. 414 416 417

Ji Ziyue later shares the Great Void Technique with Gu Sheng so they can evade cultivators pursuing the Bronze Immortal Palace’s secrets. She continues to protect him publicly and in battle, including confronting Ji Haiyue when he accuses Gu Sheng of colluding with the demon race. 419 448

Appearance

Ji Ziyue is described as a pure and elegant young woman, often associated with purple clothing and purple divine power. To conceal her identity at Tai Xuan Sect, she temporarily adopts deliberately excessive makeup. 396 419

  • Usually wears purple attire, including a purple dress or purple veil. 483 447
  • Uses a short sword and manifests faint purple light around its tip in battle. 419
  • Her heavy disguise includes eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. 396

Personality

Ji Ziyue is lively, outspoken, and teasing around Gu Sheng. She openly provokes him over Li Xiaoman, mocks arrogant opponents, and responds sharply when others underestimate her. 397 405 411

Despite her playful behavior, she is principled and protective. She refuses Gu Sheng’s suggestion to kill Ji Ye merely to prevent information from reaching the Ji Family, insisting that an innocent subordinate should not die. She also repeatedly chooses to stand by Gu Sheng even when doing so puts her at odds with her family. 396 420 448

Her desire for freedom stems from her dissatisfaction with the Ji Family’s internal conflicts and control over her life. She is willing to resist Ji Hong’s orders and face danger to seek Gu Sheng or determine her own path. 396 414
