On the mountaintop, the captains of two pirate crews were fighting their final duel!

This form had boosted every aspect of his strength. His blows had grown more fearsome, while the increased resilience of his rubber made it hard for blunt weapons to do him any real harm. He radiated a joy that people could not help but feel. Like the legendary Joy Boy, he seemed able to bring happiness to others!

And Gear Fifth was, naturally, the awakened form of the so-called Rubber-Rubber Fruit!

"Zehahaha! Luffy! You've given me quite a surprise! With your Devil Fruit awakened, perhaps Joy Boy is a better name for that Nika Form of yours!" Teach blocked Luffy's attacks, though his mind seemed to be elsewhere.

There was no doubt Luffy had grown stronger after his Devil Fruit Awakening! As Teach felt the tingling in his arms, his astonishment deepened with every blow!

He could tell that Luffy now truly possessed the strength of a Sea Emperor! It was a staggering leap. The brat who had been powerless against him moments ago had become someone strong enough to rule the seas!
