"Who is this old gentleman? Moyun, why are you so afraid of him?"
Palo's mother saw how wary a cute boy like Moyun was of an old man—and such an ugly old man at that.
She instinctively assumed the old man must have done something awful to Moyun.
That made her dislike the old man, too.
"He's just a big bad guy. He's the one who's been hunting me down."
Moyun put on an aggrieved look. By now, he knew exactly how to win Palo's mother over.
"Is that so?"
The expressions on Palo's mother's and Whitebeard's faces changed immediately, and they stepped in front of Moyun.
The old man involuntarily took a few steps back. If these people had been unimportant, he would have killed these dream figures long ago. Why else would he put himself through this?
But these two were Palo's emotional pillars. They had to exist. If he killed them, he might as well declare the game over.
"Sir, please leave, or we'll have to use force."
"No, no, no, I mean you no harm at all! You have no idea how rotten this boy is. He's nothing but trouble!"
The old man pleaded his case with a miserable expression, looking almost pitiful.
Hearing his words, Palo's mother glanced back at Moyun. The boy blinked his bright eyes, looking far cuter than her own tall, strapping son.
How could such a cute boy possibly lie?
Shameless old fool!
Who wouldn't believe a cute boy?
"Who do you think you're fooling? Get out of here!"
Palo's mother seemed genuinely angry now. She grabbed a long broom, ready to chase him out.
Whitebeard followed her lead and pushed the old man toward the door. "You'd better leave, sir. Guhahaha! My wife really doesn't seem to like you!"
