Fu Yangquan had narrowly escaped Zheng Zhuxi and fled Prefecture City before the Watchtower could react, running all the way into the depths of a dense forest.
Suddenly, a figure appeared before him.
The figure wore a blue robe and a Futou, standing with his back to him and his hands clasped behind him.
"Mister Wei." Fu Yangquan stopped and bowed, his expression fearful.
The blue-robed figure did not turn around, but asked in an icy voice:
"Anything to say for yourself?"
Fu Yangquan's expression changed, revealing viciousness, before reverting to his genial, prosperous-looking face. He said timidly:
"Your subordinate proved incompetent. My junior brother Liang Gan exposed my identity, making it impossible for me to remain in Dingjiang Prefecture. I can no longer complete the task you assigned me."
The blue-robed figure slowly turned his head, revealing a pointed, snakelike face with otherwise ordinary features. A horizontal eye grew in the middle of his forehead, gleaming with an eerie light as though something terrifying lurked within. Below his head, much of his exposed skin was covered in snakelike scales.
"Why did Liang Gan expose your identity?" the blue-robed figure addressed as Mister Wei asked slowly.
Fu Yangquan could no longer control himself. His true face emerged, filled with venom and hatred as he said:
"Liang Gan coveted my wealth. He actually invited people from the Xiaoming Sect to investigate me, forcing me to expose my identity."
Ding Songyan, who was impersonating Mister Wei, raised an eyebrow.
The Two-Faced Clan could actually lie in dreams, deliberately twisting the facts...
And this wasn't an ordinary dream, but a true dream with his mental defenses laid open...
Impressive!
*Perhaps Fu Yangquan genuinely didn't think there was anything wrong with trying to murder Liang Gan. Wasn't it only natural for the Two-Faced Clan
