Thanos knew perfectly well.
He could not leave Kamar-Taj at all right now.
All because Kamar-Taj had that damned thing called a barrier.
At that thought, a wave of panic rose in Thanos's heart.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yang spoke. "Then, Master, do you mean that if I learn mind-related magic, I'll be able to see into people's minds?"
Zhang Yang looked at The Ancient One, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
"To be precise, you should be able to communicate telepathically with multiple targets at once. You can read any human's thoughts or implant memories. And this isn't limited to human thoughts or memories. It also includes... animals..." As The Ancient One spoke, she turned her gaze toward Thanos beside them.
Thanos shuddered, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Oh my god.
She can see people's thoughts and memories? Animals' too?
Ancient One, what are you trying to imply?
That you've already seen through me?
What the fuck?!
Thanos froze on the spot, staring at The Ancient One as cold sweat kept pouring off him.
No way. No way...
While Thanos was sweating bullets, Zhang Yang said, "That ability is practically mind reading. Does that mean I'll be able to see what this big Thanos snake beside me is thinking?"
Zhang Yang asked The Ancient One, glancing at Thanos as he spoke.
That glance, coupled with Zhang Yang having just singled him out by name, instantly left Thanos feeling utterly done with life.
His poor heart pounded wildly, thump, thump, until he felt as though it would leap right out of his chest.
Every minute, every second Thanos spent here now felt like torture.
It was agonizing beyond words.
He couldn't help looking at The Ancient One, thinking desperately:
No way. No way...
She can't really see it, can she...?
