"Tony, you have no idea. I was just about to get in the car when that thug came at me with a boning knife."
"I was scared stiff. I thought I was done for, but then Little Rimuru casually threw a punch, and that thug went down!"
Pepper excitedly recounted the terrifying incident to Tony Stark again and again.
Tony Stark said nothing. He simply offered Pepper the warmth of his embrace.
A fire burned in his heart, and fear lingered in its wake. He had never imagined that shutting down the weapons division would nearly cost him Pepper forever.
If Rimuru had not turned the tide, he truly did not know how he would have faced it all.
Tony felt boundless gratitude toward Rimuru.
Come to think of it, Rimuru had saved both his and Pepper's lives!
"Tony, you don't know this, but Rimuru is just ridiculously adorable. Her shyness when changing clothes, her boldness when eating—it's all so interesting."
"Rimuru is definitely the most interesting little girl I've ever met. I really want a daughter like that!"
Listening to Pepper gush, Tony Stark felt increasingly miserable.
What the hell?
It was indeed his idea to have Pepper take Rimuru shopping for dresses, but his real goal had been to set Rimuru up!
He had even had Jarvis prepare to secretly film Rimuru's ruined expression.
This was supposed to have been an easy, relaxing win. So why had it turned into such a disastrous losing battle?
In Pepper's eyes, Rimuru was an adorable, caring little girl—a junior, and another woman.
But Tony knew Rimuru's true form was a Slime.
In games, that was a monster as infamous as tentacle creatures, the natural enemy of magical girls and the nightmare of all beautiful young women!
Considering how Rimuru kept claiming to be a man, her mentality was obvious. She was clearly, absolutely a perverted Slime lusting after women's beauty!
Pepper was his assistant, yet now all she could talk about was a perverted Slime. It had only been half a day!
WTF!
With that bitter feeling of lifting a rock only to drop it on his own foot, Tony Stark somehow felt like there was a whole grassland growing over his head.
So damn irritating!
He wanted nothing more than to smash the unfinished Mark II gauntlet straight into Rimuru's face. Perverted Slime, duel me!
Tri-Wing Building.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters.
"Director, I'm sorry. Pepper Potts stood me up again. We still haven't made any substantive progress on how Tony Stark escaped from the Terrorists!"
Phil Coulson, dressed in a suit with an utterly tragic Hairline, wore a helpless expression.
If the subject had been an ordinary person, he would have dragged them into a dark room long ago. A little intimidation, and all the information would have come spilling out.
But Tony Stark was no ordinary person!
Director Nick Fury, wearing an eyepatch and already dark-skinned to begin with, had a face so black it practically reflected light.
"So you're telling me that you, a Level 8 S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and my right-hand man, have achieved nothing in your investigation these past few days?"
Facing the Director's fury, Coulson nervously said, "No, there have been results. Based on my overt and covert investigation these past few days, I discovered that she may be the key to Stark's escape!"
As Coulson spoke, he presented a file to Nick Fury.
Name: Rimuru Tempest
Gender: Female
Identity: Nina Eve's distant niece. She inherited all of Nina Eve's shares in Stark Industries. Her identity records are false, and her past has been deliberately altered...
Abilities: Unknown. Rimuru knocked out a thug who attempted to assassinate Pepper Potts with a single punch. Her combat abilities far exceed those of ordinary people...
Distinctive features: Blue hair, golden eyes, suspected Mutant
Origin: No record of her exists before she entered the United States with Tony Stark.
Looking over Coulson's investigation report on Rimuru, Nick Fury could not help falling into deep thought.
The words "no record exists" in particular tugged at his sensitive nerves.
As the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury possessed intelligence beyond anything ordinary people could imagine.
Captain Marvel's existence had given him an exceptionally vivid lesson.
"I'm giving you one month. Investigate Rimuru's identity and origins from the ground up again. This matter is classified as Level 8. I permit you to use any means necessary."
Coulson was greatly startled by the Director's words.
He had originally brought up Rimuru partly to divert attention. He had been tracking and investigating Tony Stark for days, and if he had no progress to report, there would be no way to account for it.
He had not expected to stir up such huge waves with one stone!
Any means necessary—in other words, kidnapping, torture, forced confessions... all were permitted!
Just who was this Rimuru?
"Any problems?"
"No problems. I guarantee the mission will be completed!"
Stark Industries.
"Damn Ten Rings. They're nothing but idiots and parasites. I told them to kill Tony, yet they had the nerve to demand an outrageous price from me."
"And now they let Tony return to New York. Calling them mentally disabled would be an insult to the mentally disabled!"
Obadiah Stane burned with rage, nearly exploding from anger.
Just then, a call came in. Obadiah picked up the phone.
"Boss, we found out why Tony escaped. We captured a Ten Rings survivor and got his testimony. Tony escaped mainly because he built a suit of armor, and because of help from that blue-haired girl..."
Obadiah said, "A suit of armor? A blue-haired girl?"
"Yes. We've found the armor's components. You can take a look, Boss."
Opening the email and seeing the pictures of the armor, Obadiah could not help smiling.
"Tony, Tony. Though I want you dead every moment of every day, you truly are a super genius. You always manage to surprise me."
Because of the little butterfly effect caused by Rimuru, the Bald Boss of the Ten Rings had gone from sleep to eternal slumber.
The armor's components had naturally become ownerless. Now that his men had found them first, they belonged to him.
"Bring every single component of that armor back to me!"
"Yes!"
"Boss, according to the remaining Ten Rings members, that blue-haired girl is incredibly strong, like a monster. Bullets pose no threat to her at all. We have to be cautious!"
A monster bullets could not hurt?
Obadiah fell silent. Tony really had stepped in dog shit to run into someone like that!
"I understand. Do your own job properly!"
"Yes!"
After issuing his orders, Obadiah dropped heavily into his computer chair, his mood exceptionally grim.
The moment Tony returned, he buried himself in the laboratory and told him nothing about what he was doing.
Clearly, Tony had grown suspicious of him. He did not have much time left.
Tony Stark alone was difficult enough to deal with, and now there was a little monster too... What a headache!
After thinking for a while, Obadiah habitually opened the little videos on his computer.
Seeing Tony beaten into a pig-headed mess by the Ten Rings, Obadiah immediately burst into pig-like laughter.
Tony, Tony, so you had a day like this too!
These little videos really were good stuff. Nothing relieved stress better than them.
