Fengshen I-Type—Please Recommend and Bookmark
Pepper Potts carried a lunch into the laboratory. Everywhere she looked, the lab was filled with robotic arms and components.
"Lunch!"
"Thanks. Just put it on the table. I'll come eat when I have time."
Tony Stark did not even turn around, completely absorbed in designing the Mecha.
Pepper felt utterly helpless. She had even put on beautiful makeup before coming in, yet Tony had not spared her a single glance.
It was like winking at a blind man—completely pointless!
Before, Tony had always been fooling around with other women, making her jealous in every possible way.
Now that Tony had finally changed, she had thought he would spend more time with her.
Instead, he now spent even more time with these hunks of steel than he had ever spent partying with those random women.
She simply could not understand what was so good about all that scrap metal.
After staying in the lab for a while and seeing that Tony had no intention of paying attention to her, Pepper grew bored. Carrying the other lunch, she entered the laboratory next door.
"Rimuru, lunch!"
"Oh, oh, wait a moment. I'm almost done here!"
Rimuru answered while continuing to work on what was in her hands.
Seeing all the machinery in front of Rimuru, Pepper's face darkened. Such a good child—how had she ended up with the same bad habit as Tony?
Tony was her boss, so she did not dare force him. But could she not handle a child like Rimuru?
"No. It's lunchtime now. You have to stop!"
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle~~~~
A cloud of black smoke rose up. Because of Pepper's forceful interruption, a circuit instantly burned out.
"Ahhh, Pepper, this is all your fault! Half an hour of my work was wasted!"
Seeing Rimuru's resentment practically condense into something tangible, Pepper immediately felt guilty.
"Was it serious?"
"Of course! I was assembling the Mecha's flight boots just now. They're extremely precise—any tiny mistake can ruin everything. I'm competing with Tony, you know! Now he might overtake me!"
Seeing Rimuru puffing up her cheeks in unwilling frustration, Pepper smiled.
Rimuru was probably the most arrogant child she had ever met, wanting to surpass Tony with all her heart.
However, after observing her these past few days, Pepper had also come to understand Rimuru's astonishing talent.
But surpassing Tony... was that really possible?
"I'm sorry. Eat first. Once you're done, I won't bother you anymore."
"Okay."
"Wait, wash your hands first!"
"Don't treat me like a child!"
"You are a child. If I don't treat you like one, what should I treat you as? An adult? You little old soul!"
"..."
"I really don't understand why you and Tony both like this pile of scrap metal!"
"It's normal that you don't understand. Any man who came here would get it. Mecha is a man's romance!"
"Mecha is a man's romance. What about you, then?"
"Uh..."
The baby was suffering inside, but the baby said nothing!
Ten days later.
Looking at the bright silver Mecha before her, Rimuru's heart was filled with boundless pride.
Strictly speaking, this Mecha was also a modified Mark model, but it was infused with her own hard work as well.
Rimuru was different from Tony. Tony relied entirely on his Mecha in battle, while Rimuru had far too many skills at her disposal.
For offense, she had Ultrasound, Poison Mist Breath, and Paralysis Breath; her physical resistance was off the charts, and her recovery was astonishing; she also had control abilities like Sticky Steel Thread...
Unlike Tony Stark, Rimuru did not need to load so many weapons.
To this suit of armor, all kinds of modern weapons were merely supplements and decorations. Rimuru herself was an arsenal.
Therefore, the design concept behind Rimuru's armor was light armor, weak weaponry, high burst damage, high mobility, and high endurance.
Strictly speaking, the armor Rimuru wore was more like Spidey's suit. Its primary function was even just helping her conceal her identity.
After all, Rimuru's long blue hair was far too eye-catching. If she did not cover her head, anything she did would be as conspicuous as if she were under a camera.
If time had not been so short, Rimuru would have even wanted to make it directly into a suitcase armor.
Jarvis: "Rimuru, congratulations. The mecha's completion level is extremely high. It truly is a genius-level design!"
Rimuru: "Jarvis, you're so honest. Having you as an assistant is the best."
Jarvis: "Honesty is one of the fine qualities I was endowed with at the beginning of my design."
Rimuru: "Isn't my design much better than Tony's?"
Jarvis: "Sorry, there is no comparative data. I am currently unable to answer."
Rimuru was dissatisfied. "Jarvis, you're being far too slippery. Is the paint job finished?"
Jarvis: "It has been completed. The silver-white is exceptionally noble, accented by red and blue highlights, giving it a strong technological feel. Your aesthetic taste is excellent!"
Rimuru: "What about Tony? Did he paint his in that flashy gold and Burgundy?"
Jarvis: "Well... Rimuru, your relationship with Tony really is quite good. You understand his tastes perfectly. Your powers of observation are exceptionally sharp!"
Rimuru: "So that means you agree with me?"
Jarvis fell silent for a moment. "Sorry, program error. I am temporarily unable to answer that question."
Great Sage: "Heh."
Rimuru was speechless. I'm teasing Jarvis, so why the hell are you heckling me?
Great Sage: "Heh."
Rimuru: "..."
Just then, Jarvis's voice rang out again.
"There is a call from Tony. Would you like to answer it?"
"Yes!"
Very soon, Tony's huge, smug face was projected into the laboratory.
"Rimuru, my Mark II is already finished. I'm ready for the competition anytime! How much longer do you need? I'll wait for you!"
Rimuru said, "Wait for me? Are you kidding? My Fengshen I-Type Mecha has been ready for ages too. If you don't believe me, ask Jarvis!"
Tony Stark: "Jarvis, who finished first, Rimuru or me?"
Jarvis: "..."
This is exhausting. I just want to be a quiet artificial intelligence. Why is that so hard?
Rooftop.
Tony and Rimuru, both already wearing their mecha, stood side by side.
As he examined the mecha Rimuru had made, Tony Stark wore an incredulous expression. "Fengshen? That sounds like a name coined by some third-rate novelist. And your outer shell is way too thin. Is this for cosplay in a stage play?"
Rimuru shot back, "Are you talking about yourself? Mark has been used to death already, okay? England's first-generation tank was called Mark 1. Put simply, your armor is named something like 'Victory Armor 1' or 'War God 1.' Put nicely, it's a tribute. Put bluntly, it's plagiarism!"
Tony Stark was left speechless. What an unlikeable little slime!
BOOM!
Two jets of flame burst from the thrusters beneath Tony Stark's feet, instantly lifting him into the air. "Facts speak louder than words. I'll show you that my Mark is the best. Your so-called Fengshen is nothing but a toy!"
"Is that so?"
RUMBLE!
A massive burst of orange-yellow flame erupted from beneath Rimuru's suit, launching him more than ten meters into the air in an instant and leaving him hovering directly above Mark II's head.
It was clearly a display of one-upmanship over Mark II. Tony was immediately displeased, and he promptly piloted his suit upward.
RUMBLE!
Two trails of flame tore through the sky, shooting straight into the night as if they intended to shatter the heavens.
Terrifying indeed!
