Genius Rimuru—Please Recommend and Bookmark
At daybreak, when people's spirits were at their lowest, even highly responsible professionals would doze off, let alone undisciplined Terrorists.
And at times like this, Tony and Yinsen brought out more and more of their hidden work.
The armor that had previously been scattered into various parts to deceive the kidnappers also began to be assembled and calibrated.
The conditions were far too harsh. Every part had been hammered out by hand, and even with Tony, a super genius, overseeing things, problems kept cropping up.
"Tony, the transmission mechanism in the arm is jammed. The parts or materials might be substandard!"
Yinsen was sweating anxiously. If the arm's transmission mechanism failed, not only would that arm be unusable, but so would the flamethrower and missile launcher mounted on it.
It could be said that this small malfunction would directly rob the armor of its long-range attack capability.
But time was too tight. Reforging qualified parts would waste an unknown amount of time.
He had no solution. Perhaps Tony, that genius, would have an idea.
After nearly three months together, Yinsen had been completely won over by Tony's hands-on ability and brilliant mind.
Tony Stark's fingers flew over the keyboard as he typed. "Wait a moment. I'm almost done writing the targeting program!"
Watching Tony and Yinsen race against time, busy as spinning tops, even Rimuru, an outsider, could not help being drawn in.
In the movie, it had only taken a scene or two, but in reality, it meant hours of unrelenting effort.
Walking over to the helpless Yinsen, Rimuru said, "The parts aren't defective. Did you mix up Part C9 and Part G9?"
Startled, Yinsen jumped at Rimuru's sudden words.
Had he mixed up those two parts?
Yinsen hesitated, but when he looked at Tony, who was utterly swamped, he gritted his teeth and decided to follow Rimuru's advice.
He might as well treat a dead horse as if it were alive—disassemble, replace, reassemble...
Yinsen did not possess Tony's exceptional practical skills, but as a skilled surgeon, his most dexterous tools were naturally his hands.
His field not matching the task was the real reason his abilities had been limited.
Once he knew where the problem lay, he quickly replaced Part C9 and Part G9.
The moment he tested it, Yinsen immediately felt the difference. The arm moved freely and smoothly, and the problem was perfectly resolved.
"This..."
Yinsen looked at Rimuru, his eyes filled with disbelief. How old was she? Yet she understood machinery this complex.
Could she also be a super genius like Tony?
Of course, he had not discovered the problem. Great Sage had—but wasn't Great Sage his ability too?
Seeing Yinsen's astonished gaze, Rimuru could not help feeling a little pleased with himself.
In his previous life, as a veteran shut-in, the words he heard most often were things like "useless shut-in" and "otaku guys are disgusting."
Although he had not been dissatisfied with his own life, deep down, had he not always wanted more recognition?
He had never expected that after transmigrating to Marvel, he would be able to help Iron Man so much and earn the admiration of Yinsen, such an accomplished doctor.
That sense of recognition made Rimuru feel incredibly good!
"Okay, the targeting program is finished. Let me see what exactly went wrong!"
Tony hurried over, only to be greeted by Yinsen's smiling face.
"No need, Tony. The problem's already been solved!"
Yinsen briefly told Tony what had just happened. After hearing it, Tony was equally surprised.
He had designed both Part C9 and Part G9, so he naturally knew the specifics. They were both tiny, inconspicuous parts, but their placement was crucial.
Once everything had been assembled, it would be difficult to find the issue again.
Even he would probably have needed some time to troubleshoot it. Yet this girl, who looked like nothing more than an elementary school student, had identified it at a glance.
But now was not the time to dwell on that. They still had far too much to do.
"Let me see... Hmm, the most complicated things left to assemble are the power supply system, the shock absorption system, and the flight system, right?"
"Yes!"
Yinsen nodded. All three systems were too complicated to allow even the slightest error, so Tony had to handle them himself.
Yinsen checked his watch. "Tony, it's already 7:40. Based on their usual routine, the kidnappers will wake up in an hour and a half at most. We don't have much time!"
Tony grabbed a wrench confidently. "An hour and a half is enough."
Without even looking up, Tony tightened screws while calling out, "Part F3, G7."
"Part F3, G7!"
Yinsen called back as he searched, but his speed at finding parts clearly could not keep up with Tony's demands. Many times, Tony had no choice but to stop and wait for Yinsen to bring the parts over.
Before long, even Rimuru grew anxious watching them.
Whenever Tony called for a part, Rimuru could find it immediately and hand it to him.
Tony had been surprised at first, but he gradually got used to it.
As the assembly progressed, Tony eventually did not even need to call out which part he wanted. Rimuru would simply place it directly in front of him.
Yinsen, watching from start to finish, was utterly amazed, and even Tony was deeply shocked.
He and Rimuru had known each other for less than a day, yet working together felt like they had been longtime partners for half their lives. Their coordination was terrifyingly seamless.
Rimuru had given Tony far too many surprises. He no longer regarded Rimuru as an ordinary child.
By now, in Tony's eyes, Rimuru was practically a genius on his level.
Especially since they worked together so well, Tony liked Rimuru more and more. He truly wished he could immediately recruit Rimuru into Stark Industries.
Most importantly, Rimuru was young. Young meant highly moldable—this was practically an uncut jade, a treasure.
"You finished half an hour early! Tony, and Blue-Haired Girl, you two are incredible!"
Hearing Yinsen call him "Blue-Haired Girl," Rimuru shuddered in disgust. He glared fiercely at Yinsen. "What girl? Didn't I tell you? I'm a man, a 24-karat pure-blooded man!"
But Rimuru's "ferocious" expression had no intimidation whatsoever in Tony and Yinsen's eyes. Instead, it only seemed adorably pouty.
Tony Stark smiled and extended his hand. "Got it, got it. Thank you for your help. Let me introduce myself again. I'm Tony Stark. You can call me Tony. May I know your name?"
Looking at Tony's outstretched hand, Rimuru smiled and extended his own. "Hello, Tony. My name is Rimuru Tempest. You can call me Rimuru."
Tony said, "Rimuru, that's a lovely name. It suits a cute girl like you. Tempest, though—that's a rare surname."
Rimuru's face darkened as he snapped, "I'm a man!"
Tony nodded. "I know, I know. Our little man is really beautiful and adorable."
Rimuru: "..."
Did anyone describe a man as beautiful and adorable? That bastard Tony Stark was way too full of himself!
This was seriously irritating!
Wait, Rimuru's eyes lit up. Why not give him a name?
Emmmm...
Stark sounded pretty good!
Say, if he gave Tony the name Stark, would Tony evolve like a monster?
He really wanted to find out!
Happy times were always short. After all, they still had not escaped.
After attaching a bomb to the door, with Rimuru and Yinsen's help, the Mark I was quickly put on.
At the same time, the Terrorists in the monitoring room finally noticed Tony's disappearance and Rimuru's intrusion.
The curtain had risen!
