(Sorry for the out-of-character moment. This part was inspired by something I saw on Douyin. Originally, Fang Yuan heard another traveler had arrived and went to challenge them, only for the newcomer to recite this poem...)
"Great sacrifices inspire great resolve; we dare command the sun and moon to light a new sky." (A line from Mao Zedong's poem "To Shaoshan.")
As Elysia softly recited the line, Hoshimi Miyabi froze.
It wasn't that she didn't understand poetry. She had heard something deeper in those words: the courage to remake the world itself. And a pack of monsters and demons dared come out to prey on people?
Hoshimi Miyabi swallowed. As the "Martial-Arts-Mad Fox" Nicole had described, she naturally admired the strong.
And the Pink Elf standing before her was unquestionably strong in every way. The only slight problem was that she was threatening the lingering souls of Miyabi's ancestors.
Hoshimi Miyabi hurried to speak. She hated those stubborn old relics, but she didn't want to see her ancestors' souls wiped out by a single arrow.
"Honored ancestors... please believe in me. I'll rewrite the Hoshimi Family's fate in my own way. I'll eradicate evil completely, and I'll make those responsible pay for everything you suffered!"
Despite the way out Hoshimi Miyabi had offered them, the lingering souls remained silent. Their reflections wavered on the deep-blue water as though they were thinking.
"I don't think you're Miss Hoshimi's ancestors themselves, are you? You're... just the obsessions they left behind."
Seeing the souls hesitate, Elysia decided to give them another push.
A flurry of petals swept past. At some point, the bow in Elysia's hand had vanished, replaced by a staff.
Elysia raised it. "If you won't agree, Miss Fairy would be happy to demonstrate her Exorcism Magic♪"
Yes, that was exactly
