Cars streamed past and pedestrians hurried along. No one seemed consumed by fear over the brutal Undying Arena battle royale from a few days earlier.
Molly walked home, relaxed for once. She put the arena and the Monster Demons out of her mind.
At an intersection up ahead, a long line had formed. It stretched from a shop entrance to the corner of the sidewalk, packed with people.
Curious, Molly slowed down for a closer look.
A poster above the line advertised a new book release. In large letters, it read: Live Signing and Sale of a Smash-Hit New Book.
Beside it, the title stood out:
"Things I Can't Help Saying About My Magical Girl Girlfriends"
So a bestselling author had released a new book.
Molly sometimes read for pleasure to unwind from fighting monsters and practicing her swordsmanship. The new release caught her interest.
She had nothing else to do, so she joined the line, planning to buy a copy to read in her spare time.
