Konoha shinobi stood atop the City Wall, looking down at the Cloud shinobi in the distance.
Darui halted the advancing Ninja Corps. A team of Scout Ninja stepped out of the ranks, including the only sensory Ninja accompanying the Cloud force.
The scouts advanced slowly, then suddenly leaped up. Each hurled several Explosive Kunai, setting off some of the traps laid just yesterday.
The Konoha leadership on the City Wall remained unmoved. The Cloud shinobi had fallen for the traps once yesterday; this time, they were bound to be careful.
Sending scouts to test the way was exactly what they had expected. The traps were meant to drain the Cloud shinobi's supplies.
The Cloud shinobi had come a long way and could not be carrying much. Every bit they used was a bit they could not replace.
Every time the scouts advanced another stretch, they threw more Explosive Kunai, detonating the traps Konoha had laid.
Explosive Tags kept going off for two hours before the Cloud force finally reached the foot of the City Wall.
