Xiao Xi looked at the endless mass of Twisted Treants beneath the city wall, and her heart trembled.
There were simply too many.
Only now did Xiao Xi understand why she had kept feeling that something was wrong, leaving her unsettled.
At last, she had her answer.
Every tree in the forest where Tark Tower stood had long since been completely twisted by Tucker.
They had become red-and-black Twisted Treants.
Now, summoned by Tucker, all these Tree Spirits shed their disguises, pulled their bodies out of the soil, and surged toward the wall where Xiao Xi stood.
How many trees were there in a forest?
Xiao Xi did not know, just as she did not know how many Tree Spirits stood before her.
They stretched on without end.
On the city wall.
The Blood Slave Guard's faces were already filled with horror.
Had Xiao Xi not still been there holding things together, these Blood Slaves would probably have dropped their weapons and fled.
"Still no sign of Tucker?"
Xiao Xi turned slightly, looking behind her to one side.
"No. We scouted the forest, but found no trace of the Tower. There are several relatively open areas, though, which could very well be where it stands."
As the report was delivered, several photographs were handed to Xiao Xi.
Xiao Xi narrowed her eyes slightly.
She was about to speak, but paused briefly, then smiled.
"Our reinforcements have arrived. Pass the word down. Everyone, prepare to engage."
The Vampire behind her froze, then quickly realized what she meant by reinforcements.
The worry buried deep in his eyes vanished completely, replaced by delighted surprise.
"Understood!"
When the order went out, delighted expressions also spread through the Blood Slave Guard holding the wall.
"We're saved! It's that mechanized force."
