As the Mechanical Apostle's attack began to fade, the Life Thorn Shield, on the verge of shattering, blazed with light.
An equally vast beam of pitch-black energy shot from the Life Thorn Shield.
It had only one target: the Mechanical Apostle Zero Unit.
It was the Life Thorn Shield's reflection effect.
An armored barrier appeared around the Mechanical Apostle Zero Unit. At the same time, two Mechanical Apostle Support Units moved in front of it and raised their arms to block.
The thick black beam slammed into the defensive barrier formed by the two Support Units.
It held for less than a second. The barrier shattered, and the beam tore through both Support Units, turning them into two bursts of flame as their bodies broke apart.
The black beam lost none of its force. It struck the barrier around the Mechanical Apostle Zero Unit head-on, and a Mechanical Shield appeared in the Mechanical Overmind's hand.
The barrier shattered too. The beam struck the shield, and its tremendous momentum blasted the Mechanical Apostle Zero Unit backward.
A dazzling flash erupted.

The Mechanical Overmind stared at the data flashing before him, then looked at Habal in disbelief.
Habal was only a Gold-Tier Lifeform. He had not only withstood his attack head-on but had even struck back. Was he dreaming?
