Starlight frowned but did not answer the Witch's question directly. "I saw the undead wailing. This place makes me very uncomfortable. Once I see the Messenger, I want to leave immediately."
The Witch sneered and turned away.
Starlight's words threw the General into turmoil. He chased after Starlight, firing off question after question. "Besides seeing the undead, can you see anything else? Any detail will do. At least let us deduce where the danger is coming from, or who it's coming from... Was the Hidden Boss behind this? Can you estimate the time of death?"
Starlight glanced at him. "Soft sobbing foretells a natural death. Piercing wails foretell a violent or wartime death. If the undead sing in layered chorus, it foretells the death of a great or holy person. I can distinguish the scope of death from the cries of the undead. If you can provide me with a few Cards to digest, perhaps I can see more information."
The General was left speechless. He wanted to swear up a storm. This guy was just like the Witch!
Starlight caught up with the Witch and the Doctor ahead, saying as he walked, "This place is dangerous. We have to leave as soon as possible. I hope the Messenger really intends to relocate us. I don't want to stay here and die..."
The General's eyelids twitched. He had a nagging feeling that the large-scale deaths Starlight mentioned were related to the explosives that had been delivered, but he could not persuade the Messenger. All he could do now was worry helplessly.
The group left the helipad and headed toward the Mansion.
Guard Squads patrolled both inside and outside the Mansion walls. Their military boots marched in perfect rhythm, while the metal parts of their guns clicked regularly with each step.
