When the distance between Players was less than ten meters, Player identification markers would appear above their heads. When it was less than five meters, they could use the Virtual Screen to look up information, add friends, apply to form a team, and so on.
When the distance between a Player and a monster was below the safe distance, a red marker would appear above the monster's head. The safe distance for ordinary monsters was twenty meters, fifty meters for Elite Monsters, eighty meters for boss monsters, and one hundred and twenty meters for Lords and above.
If a Player was inside a Maze and got too close to the Labyrinth Master, a Red Mist warning would appear.
Note: the relevant values could fluctuate depending on environmental factors and Card attributes.
For example, severe weather such as heavy rain, blizzards, and dense fog would increase the system-determined safe distance.
Another example: when a Player possessed a Card with strong perception, they could see monsters beyond the safe distance. Likewise, if a Boss monster had a similar skill for sensing enemies, it could also detect Players outside the safe distance.
Feng Ling asked, "What level of monster is Auntie Wang? The Skin-Painting Ghost is a high-level Card. She isn't a boss, is she? Wouldn't she recognize us as soon as we got a little closer?"
Ye Zheng said stiffly, "She's an Elite Monster, and one that only advanced recently."
Feng Ling: "..."
"If you hadn't given her two Cards, she would probably still be an ordinary monster." Ye Zheng frowned. "I'm not blaming you. I just think it's too much of a coincidence."
Feng Ling looked helplessly at the sky. "Sigh, it really feels like I went out without checking the almanac today."
There was a brief silence on Ye Zheng's
