Out of humanitarian concern, the inpatient department did not restrict the schedules of patients with relatively mild infection symptoms, so patients occasionally visited one another—

Sometimes patients from the third floor went to the fifth, or patients from the fifth floor came down to the fourth. This was because relatives and friends were not necessarily assigned to the same room or even the same floor.

However, nurses rarely visited other floors.

This was already the second time Poet had seen Ling Feiran on another floor.

Ling Feiran saw Poet as well.

She gave him a shy smile and greeted him politely.

"Oh, right..." Ling Feiran took out a flute, hurried over, and handed it to Poet. "I thought I might not be able to buy one, but I asked just to try my luck, and surprisingly, I really found one. The quality isn't as good as your original flute, though, and the material is different too..."

Ling Feiran pursed her lips and said apologetically, "I'm really sorry about last time. I didn't know how to make it up to you."

Poet found the nurse before him rather strange. She was almost too kind-hearted.

Then it occurred to him that perhaps she had feelings for him. That was not impossible. After all, his appearance was truly exceptional; it was only natural for him to attract the opposite sex.

"Did you come here specifically to give me this flute?" Poet asked with a half-smile. "Delivering a flute at three in the morning?"

Ling Feiran blushed, looking very embarrassed. "No, no... I was planning to come after daybreak. A nurse on the ninth floor wasn't feeling well tonight, so I came to cover her shift temporarily."

Poet asked curiously, "Then why are you here...?"

"That patient from last time..." Ling Feiran explained hesitantly.
