Ch. 684Return Scroll

Ling Feiran and the others fled the battle between the Mountain Demon and Chaos, then realized Chaos was nearly invulnerable without the Radiant Altar’s holy light. With Chaos turning on them and Ling Feiran’s strength failing, she urged Huangfu Miaomiao to try setting up a Teleportation Array.

  • Pei Xianjue and the others ran from the Mountain Demon and Chaos while Ling Feiran treated Pashan, who survived a direct hit after briefly using the Hundred-Armed Giant's Second Form.
  • The group escaped to a safer distance and learned from Ling Feiran that the Mountain Demon had fallen dormant because Chaos was preventing the Mountain lice from gathering materials to restore its energy.
  • Pei Xianjue realized Chaos could not be physically harmed without the Radiant Altar’s holy light, while Ling Feiran warned that she could not keep healing everyone indefinitely.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao explained that Teleportation Arrays were expensive and could not be placed inside a Maze, just as Chaos shifted its attention to the group.
  • Ling Feiran held Chaos back with healing light, and when Pei Xianjue urged her to escape alone, she told Huangfu Miaomiao to try placing a Teleportation Array in case their location was outside the Maze proper.

Ch. 685Feng Ling, Feng Ling, Feng Ling

Huangfu Miaomiao used a Teleportation Array to escape Chaos, transporting her group to a snowy wilderness where they encountered Feng Ling. The chapter ended with Miaomiao recognizing Feng Ling and embracing her in tears.

  • Huangfu Miaomiao bought and activated a Teleportation Array as Chaos prepared to attack, and everyone escaped through it.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao, Pei Xianjue, Lin Pengpeng, Pashan, and Ling Feiran arrived in a freezing wilderness beneath a distant Snow Mountain.
  • Pashan tried to flee but spotted a gigantic bird and ran back toward the others in fear.
  • Millions of Human-faced Crows arrived with Kite, and Feng Ling came down from Kite's back.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao rushed to Feng Ling and clung to her, and Feng Ling recognized her.

Ch. 686In Minutes

Feng Ling reunited with Huangfu Miaomiao and learned that Pei Xianjue's group needed help with Chaos and the Mountain Demon. Too exhausted to fight immediately, Feng Ling agreed to take everyone into the Spring Labyrinth to rest and recover before deciding what to do next.

  • Feng Ling reunited with Huangfu Miaomiao and brought the group onto Great Kite's back to avoid tentacles hidden in the wasteland grass.
  • Pei Xianjue, Huangfu Miaomiao, and Ling Feiran explained how they had reached the area, while Lin Pengpeng described the Mountain Demon and Chaos.
  • Ye Zheng explained that Feng Ling was recovering from a battle and undergoing desensitization training against Monsters from the Hive Labyrinth.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao wondered whether Meteor could use the Teleportation Array to escape, but Ye Zheng said the fog at its destination could weaken her.
  • Feng Ling agreed to lead the exhausted group into the Spring Labyrinth to recover before discussing how to handle Chaos and the Mountain Demon.

Ch. 687I'll Handle It

Feng Ling and the others explored the Spring Labyrinth, where Huangfu Miaomiao used her All-Seeing Eye to map the maze and locate an entrance through the dense vegetation. The group landed at the entrance, and Feng Ling revealed that digesting Naga had given her tentacles new shape-changing abilities.

  • The group flew over a bright city filled with motionless Parasite Humans, and Feng Ling explained that many were copied bodies rather than parasitized residents.
  • Feng Ling brought Huangfu Miaomiao along to search for a Safe House, and they entered a vast forest of dense plants within the maze.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao used her All-Seeing Eye to map the maze from the air and chose an entrance near its center instead of blasting through the vegetation.
  • The Great Kite landed at the entrance, and Feng Ling cleared the chest-high grass with her tentacles.
  • Feng Ling told Huangfu Miaomiao that digesting Naga had let her tentacles change shape freely, then followed Ye Zheng into the maze.

Ch. 688Maze Within a Maze

Feng Ling and her group traveled through the safe passages of the Spring Labyrinth, where the others recovered their energy. Feng Ling discovered an Armor Monster in a side passage and realized it only moved when it saw her.

  • Huangfu Miaomiao led Feng Ling, Ye Zheng, Pei Xianjue, Lin Pengpeng, and Ling Feiran through the maze’s safe passages using her map.
  • Feng Ling left the group to explore a side passage and found a suit of armor that attacked her.
  • Feng Ling ran back to the group and reported that an Armor Monster was chasing her, but it stopped moving when she returned out of sight.
  • After the armor’s footsteps briefly sounded, Ling Feiran suggested it might only move when it saw Feng Ling.
  • Feng Ling peeked around the corner, causing the armor to charge at her, then pulled back as it fell silent again.

Ch. 689Invincible

Feng Ling destroyed the Armor Monster and discussed how the Hive’s parasitic organs and Life Source Pillars worked. She explained why advancing to the Abyss could leave her vulnerable during a seven-day transformation, and Ling Feiran wondered whether the Star Society’s Xenomorph was waiting for that moment.

  • Feng Ling lured the Armor Monster to the group, cut it apart, and crushed the parasitic organ inside its breastplate.
  • Ye Zheng and Feng Ling explained how the Contaminants had used the Maze’s parasitic growth to obtain food, and Feng Ling identified the God of Spring and Life’s power as growth.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao argued that Feng Ling would become invincible after advancing to the Abyss, while Feng Ling described the Life Source Pillars as the Hive’s strength and weakness.
  • Feng Ling revealed that creating Life Source Pillars during her next advancement would consume most of her energy and require a lengthy transformation inside a Nest Body.
  • Ye Zheng said Feng Ling had spent almost seven days in the Nest Body during her previous advancement, and Ling Feiran wondered whether the Star Society’s Xenomorph was waiting for that transformation.

Ch. 690This Kid

Feng Ling reached the Maze’s Labyrinth Divine Statue, lowered her Corruption Value, and offered Cards to Ling Feiran and others as she prepared to advance. When Pashan lunged for the Cards, Ye Zheng struck him down, and Feng Ling warned that he was lucky to be alive.

  • Feng Ling used two Centipede Cards at the Labyrinth Divine Statue, lowering her Corruption Value to 27%, while Pei Xianjue and Lin Pengpeng declined to draw.
  • Ling Feiran admitted she had digested a Musician Card and received a Bluebird Card from Feng Ling, who advised her to seek Li Yu’s luck Buff before drawing Cards at the Eco-Park Idol.
  • Feng Ling gave the Green Weasel several Cards to inspect for Ling Feiran and Lin Pengpeng, explaining that she planned to advance and had kept dangerous Cards for herself.
  • Pashan lunged for the Cards, but Ye Zheng hit him away before he could grab them.
  • Feng Ling warned Pashan that Ye Zheng had saved his life, then asked Ling Feiran who the reckless kid was.

Ch. 691Too Fast

Ling Feiran tried to convert Pashan into a believer, and Feng Ling nearly killed him to weaken his will before Ling Feiran healed him. Pashan’s conversion succeeded, and Feng Ling offered him a Card in exchange for protecting Ling Feiran and helping others.

  • Ling Feiran told Feng Ling that Saintess had failed to convert Pashan despite her repeated healing, and she considered killing him.
  • Green Weasel suggested weakening Pashan before another conversion attempt, so Feng Ling pierced him with a tentacle and Ling Feiran healed him.
  • Ling Feiran received a prompt to summon an Apostle, then finished healing Pashan as his conversion succeeded.
  • Pashan hid behind Ling Feiran, and she explained that believers were compelled to trust, obey, and protect their Saintess.
  • Feng Ling offered Pashan a Card if he protected Ling Feiran, and Pashan immediately lunged for it.

Ch. 692Life Seed

Feng Ling’s group found a Life Seed that fully restored energy as they approached the Labyrinth Boss’s lair. After Feng Ling ate it, the Wreath Fairy led everyone farther down the flower-covered path, where it sensed more Life Seeds.

  • Green Weasel gave Pei Xianjue a Chimera Card but found no suitable Card for Lin Pengpeng, so Feng Ling led the group onward.
  • The group entered a flower-filled passage that Green Weasel identified as a likely route to the Labyrinth Master, and Feng Ling decided they should avoid provoking the Boss for now.
  • The Wreath Fairy flew into the flowers to drink nectar and returned carrying a Life Seed, which Huangfu Miaomiao identified as an item that restored energy by 100%.
  • Feng Ling ate the Life Seed and felt well enough to want another one, while the Wreath Fairy sensed more ahead and led the group down the path.

Ch. 693Seven Minutes

Feng Ling and the others collected Life Seeds in the plaza, learning that the seeds turned hostile after expiring and tried to parasitize nearby creatures. After they destroyed the transformed seeds, the central flower began opening and triggered the Labyrinth Boss battle.

  • Huangfu Miaomiao warned everyone that Life Seeds expired seven minutes after being picked up, and the group used them to restore their energy.
  • Feng Ling and the others examined water channels crossing the plaza but suspected their pattern was merely decorative.
  • Expired Life Seeds swelled, turned hostile, and grew rootlets that searched for living creatures to parasitize.
  • Lin Pengpeng cut apart a transformed seed attacking her ankle, while Feng Ling crushed another underfoot.
  • The central flower began opening, and Feng Ling realized they had triggered the Labyrinth Boss battle.

Ch. 694Bud Heart

Feng Ling and the others faced the Labyrinth Boss after discovering that the Life Seeds could mutate and parasitize anyone they touched. Feng Ling badly wounded the Boss, but its berserk blood vessels infected her as she retreated.

  • A Life Seed attached itself to Pei Xianjue, so Feng Ling cut off part of her hand before the seed mutated into a mass of fingers; Ling Feiran treated her wound, and Pei Xianjue burned the nearby seeds.
  • Ling Feiran warned the group to avoid falling, since the Life Seeds could parasitize their faces and heads.
  • The Labyrinth Boss emerged from the flower bud, and Feng Ling charged it, severing its upper body and riddling its flower-bud heart with holes.
  • The Boss entered a berserk state, and its wounds healed as blood vessels attacked Feng Ling and injected flesh seeds beneath her scales.
  • Ye Zheng bombed the blood vessels to help Feng Ling retreat, but Life Seeds clung to Feng Ling's wounds, and Ye Zheng's next Grenade made them worse.

Ch. 695Try Again

Feng Ling and her team attacked the Labyrinth Boss while preventing its Life Seeds from parasitizing them. Ling Feiran’s poisoned seed weakened the Boss, allowing Feng Ling to finish the fight.

  • Feng Ling explained that the Boss’s plasma could restore energy but its large seeds could parasitize through blood vessels, so Ye Zheng volunteered to sever the vessels while the others attacked.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao used grenades to clear seeds and draw the Boss’s attention, then retreated when it sprayed blood and flesh seeds.
  • Feng Ling, Ye Zheng, and Pei Xianjue attacked the Boss while Lin Pengpeng and Ling Feiran destroyed the large seeds on the ground.
  • Ling Feiran poisoned a Life Seed with her Scorpion Tail and sent Pashan to press it into one of the Boss’s wounds.
  • The poisoned seed made the Boss’s flesh rot and soften, and Feng Ling continued attacking until she won.

Ch. 696Twin Mazes

After Feng Ling and the others defeated the Labyrinth Boss, its remains triggered a teleportation array that transported them to a second Maze. Huangfu Miaomiao recognized it as the Netherworld Abyss and realized the twin Mazes required defeating the God of Spring and Life to awaken the God of Winter and Death.

  • Feng Ling and the group opened the treasure chest inside the Boss’s heart and found a set of jewelry called Inanna's Divine Artifacts, whose functions were unknown.
  • As the blood-filled channels beneath them glowed red, the Boss’s body dissolved and a teleportation array transported everyone out of the Maze.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao recognized their new location as the Netherworld Abyss, a Maze where descending levels stripped away Cards or, eventually, the Players’ senses.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao explained that the Netherworld Abyss and their previous Maze were twin Mazes, and defeating the God of Spring and Life had activated the God of Winter and Death.

Ch. 697Long-Winded Rambling

Feng Ling learned that the group had to descend through the Underworld Maze’s Seven Gates to reach and defeat the God of Death, but the gates would strip away Cards and then senses. Green Weasel’s explanation of the Inanna myth revealed that the seven divine artifacts might protect Feng Ling, who prepared to face the other half of the Maze’s divided god.

  • Huangfu Miaomiao explained that the group could not leave the Maze without killing the God of Death at the Abyss’s bottom.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao described how the Seven Gates stripped away Cards and then senses, leaving Feng Ling as the only one with enough Cards to descend safely.
  • The group reached the Smiling God Statue and found the stone steps leading into the Abyss.
  • Green Weasel suggested that the seven divine artifacts from the Spring Labyrinth treasure chest could protect Feng Ling from the gates’ effects.
  • Green Weasel explained that Inanna and Ishtar were the same goddess in different translations, and Feng Ling concluded she would have to kill the other half of the god.

Ch. 698Hades

Feng Ling entered the Underworld Labyrinth’s First Gate after learning that its Boss might use a spindle and strip away divine artifacts. She returned briefly to leave Wool with the others, then continued toward the Boss alone.

  • Ye Zheng and the others discussed the possible abilities of the Underworld Ruler Boss, and Green Weasel identified its likely weapon as a spindle.
  • Feng Ling gathered jewelry and Grenades, accepted Pei Xianjue’s Micro Camera, and descended the stairs with the group.
  • At the First Gate, Feng Ling’s golden belt crumbled into sand, and Huangfu Miaomiao said the statues’ words, “Only stripping away can weigh the soul.”
  • Feng Ling ran toward the Boss, then quickly returned and handed the group Wool, who had nearly died passing through two gates.
  • Feng Ling hurried back down the stairs while the Wreath Fairy settled motionless on Ye Zheng’s shoulder.

Ch. 699Feng Ling Descends into the Underworld

While Feng Ling’s team waited near the Idol, Feng Ling descended alone to the Abyss’s deepest level and found the paired goddesses Inanna and Ereshkigal. Her experiment suggested that only an attack with a soul could harm the death goddess, who then used her spindle to summon a familiar Centipede Monster.

  • Huangfu Miaomiao led the group back up from the Abyss, where Ye Zheng helped the Wreath Fairy recover and Ling Feiran felt she had found the beginnings of a home with her companions and Pashan.
  • Feng Ling crossed the Seventh Gate, losing her jewelry to the Abyss, and explored a colorless ruin without encountering traps or Monsters.
  • Feng Ling found the Labyrinth Boss: Inanna, the Spring Goddess, and Ereshkigal, the death goddess, sharing one body, with a scepter and spindle as weapons.
  • Feng Ling threw a Grenade at the Boss, scorching Inanna and scattering Life Seeds, but Ereshkigal remained unharmed.
  • Feng Ling struck Ereshkigal’s obsidian mask with her Steel Blade Tentacle, and Ereshkigal blocked the blow with her scepter.
  • Ereshkigal raised her spindle and opened a black doorway, summoning a Centipede Monster that Feng Ling recognized as familiar.

Ch. 700Judgment

Feng Ling fought the Reaper’s waves of undead monsters in the Underworld Maze and realized its spindle was judging her soul by making her face every creature she had killed. She concluded that only a soul that had never harmed life could pass, leaving her frustrated as the others waited for her return.

  • Feng Ling killed the Reaper’s summoned monsters, then recognized the black rectangles were bringing back creatures she had slain as undead spirits.
  • Feng Ling attacked the Reaper from behind, but its body resisted her blades, while one strike wounded the nearby God of Spring and Life and released Life Seeds.
  • Feng Ling noticed the Seeds and reasoned that the Reaper was weighing souls, with the purest soul belonging to someone who had never harmed life.
  • Feng Ling wiped out another wave of bugs, Horse-faced Monsters, and Fox Demons, then regretted entering the Underworld.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao, Ye Zheng, Pei Xianjue, and Ling Feiran worried that Feng Ling had not returned after more than two hours.

Ch. 701This Spindle

Feng Ling endured a seemingly endless battle against monsters in the Underworld and defeated the twin goddesses, claiming the Spring Goddess's Card and hatching Akash, Lord of the Sand Throat, from the goddess's remains. She took the God of Death's spindle and discovered it showed scenes from her life, then wondered whether its other end revealed her death.

  • Pei Xianjue, Lin Pengpeng, Huangfu Miaomiao, Ye Zheng, and Ling Feiran worried about Feng Ling and agreed to wait before sending Ling Feiran down to look for her.
  • Feng Ling slaughtered wave after wave of monsters until the ashes froze and the twin goddesses fell silent.
  • Feng Ling collected the Spring Goddess's Card and used the goddess's corpse to hatch Akash, Lord of the Sand Throat.
  • Feng Ling pulled the spindle from the God of Death's hand and found that touching its thread showed scenes from her life, including her birth.
  • Feng Ling wondered whether the far end of the spindle's thread would show her death.

Ch. 702Fate Spindle

Ye Zheng and the others descended into the Abyss to find Feng Ling, discovering that the Maze was crumbling as they passed its gates. They reunited with Feng Ling and learned about the Fate Spindle, which had two uses left, and Feng Ling offered it to Ye Zheng.

  • Ye Zheng, Huangfu Miaomiao, Ling Feiran, and Pei Xianjue descended into the Abyss, where the First Gate stripped one of their Cards from each of them.
  • Huangfu Miaomiao found that the Second Gate's statues had turned to sand, and the group passed more gates as the Maze's steps also began to crumble.
  • At the Fifth Gate, Huangfu Miaomiao and the others met Feng Ling returning with a small lion-person beside her.
  • Feng Ling gave Huangfu Miaomiao the Reaper's weapon, and Huangfu Miaomiao identified it as the Fate Spindle, which could reveal its holder's life and had two uses remaining.
  • Feng Ling said she had already seen her own death with the Fate Spindle and suggested that Ye Zheng use one of its remaining charges.

Ch. 703Brought Back

After leaving the Maze, Feng Ling hid that the Fate Spindle had shown her killing Ye Zheng and wondered whether the vision could be changed. The group emerged in Manluo Country, where Pei Xianjue planned to contact the Quarantine Zone and arrange a pickup.

  • Ye Zheng refused to use the Fate Spindle, and Feng Ling kept its remaining uses for herself.
  • The group climbed out of the Maze as rain fell around the pit, and Feng Ling used the Smiling God Statue to reduce her Corruption Value from 27% to 26%.
  • Feng Ling asked Huangfu Miaomiao about the Fate Spindle, but Huangfu Miaomiao refused to hear what Feng Ling had seen because Meteor could read memories.
  • Feng Ling kept secret that the vision showed her tearing out and crushing Ye Zheng's heart, and she considered whether the Fate Spindle had malfunctioned.
  • The group realized they had emerged in a woodland in Manluo Country, and Huangfu Miaomiao said they could use the Teleportation Array to return.
  • Pei Xianjue found that her phone had a signal and planned to call the Quarantine Zone for a plane, while Feng Ling dreaded being expected to fight the Maze Bosses.
