Background and History

Queen Medusa rules the Snake-People Tribe from its Holy City in the Tagor Desert. Seeking the strength to reclaim her people’s lost lands, she considers both a Sect-Breaking Pill and the dangerous Heavenly Flame evolution. The tribe’s elders contribute their treasures and search for pill ingredients to support her breakthrough 66 68.

When large-scale human purchases of Magic Cores raise fears of an attack, she puts the eight tribes on alert and personally investigates Desert City. Her search leads her to the Mittel Auction House and, later, to Lu Chuan, who offers her a path to bloodline evolution and passage to another world 67 74 75.

Appearance

Before her evolution, Medusa has a snake tail that she can conceal as human legs. She wears a veil while investigating Desert City; after visiting Douluo Continent, she adopts a red gown and crystal-red high heels 67 80 108.

Medusa is proud, commanding, and quick to use force when she believes her people or companions are threatened. She rejects the Great Elder’s advice to send a scout into human territory, arguing that her own strength makes her more likely to survive. Her long-standing distrust of humans initially makes her wary of Lu Chuan’s offers 67 75.

Her guarded manner does not prevent her from reconsidering others. After killing a Spirit Hall deacon who planned to capture Lu Chuan’s group, she learns that the organization also supports poor children and pauses to question her judgment. Around Lu Chuan, she often denies her curiosity or affection, though she grows willing to trust him with her life and her tribe’s future 79 84 107.
