Power Progression

Background and History

Lu Chuan arrives on Douluo Continent and becomes lost in the Star Dou Forest for over half a month. His Super Middleman System protects him from harm, but initially gives him no comparable attack power or speed. Meeting Zhu Zhuqing provides his first customer: she trades one level of Soul Power for a limited visit to the Battle Through the Heavens world, unlocking travel between the two worlds for him 1 3.

In Wutan City, he begins acquiring Dou Techniques, cultivation methods, and medicines for use in cross-world deals. He later obtains Spirit Awakening Stones, awakens his own Martial Soul, and offers awakenings to the Xiao Family and other Wutan City groups in exchange for techniques 4 14 20 24.

His business expands on Douluo Continent through trades with Xue Qinghe, Ning Fengzhi, and Dugu Bo. He exchanges techniques and medicines for Spirit Bones, and cures Dugu Bo’s poison in return for his service and medicinal garden. The Cross-World Trading House is subsequently built with help from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 28 35 36 45 94.

Appearance

Lu Chuan appears to be around seventeen or eighteen when he visits Spirit Hall in Suotuo City 14.

• He wears modern casual clothes brought from Blue Star, which stand out on the Dou Qi Continent and catch Xiao Yan’s attention 4.

Personality

Lu Chuan is a calculating merchant who prices deals according to what customers can offer. He charges separately for knowledge needed to use purchased techniques, but also extends the same awakening terms to rival Wutan City families rather than granting the Xiao Family exclusivity 20 24 32. He is openly confident in confrontations and willing to use a fight to demonstrate goods he intends to sell 27 28.

He is protective of Zhu Zhuqing, supervising her cultivation and refusing to tolerate Dugu Bo’s threat against her. His generosity toward companions is also practical: he supplies training and resources so they can become stronger allies 26 35 43 54.

The Super Middleman System prevents attacks, restraints, and seals from affecting Lu Chuan 1.

• He withstands Soul Beast attacks, Dai Mubai’s Spirit Skill, and Dugu Bo’s full Soul Power pressure without injury 1 15 35.
• It also prevents the medicinal harm that normally limits consumption of Foundation Establishment Spiritual Liquid 11.
• At first, this protection does not improve his ordinary strength or speed 1.

Cross-World Travel and Contracts

• Completing his first transaction unlocks travel to the Battle Through the Heavens world 3.
• He arranges limited visits for clients in exchange for payment and uses contracts to enforce his deals 3 8 46.
• A purchaser’s contract can prevent other people from learning a copied technique, even when they can read its words 32.
• His contract with Dugu Bo binds the latter to serve him and prevents him from harming Lu Chuan or those close to him 36.

Imperial Heirloom Seal

His Martial Soul is a jade seal formed from Human Race Fortune. Its presence exerts innate pressure on creatures with human blood 14.

• Its awakening forces bystanders at Spirit Hall to kneel 14.
• Lu Chuan later uses it against Dai Mubai and Tang San while exempting Zhu Zhuqing from its pressure 15.

Cultivation, Techniques, and Alchemy

• The system automatically teaches him cultivation methods and Dou Techniques obtained through qualifying transactions, bringing them to mastery 1 19 54.
• He fights imperial guards with techniques including Stone Shattering Fist, Iron Mountain Shoulder, Cloak Leg, and Windroll Art. Repeated use can exhaust both his Dou Qi and Soul Power 27.
• He learns to refine Foundation Establishment Spiritual Liquid and uses Soul Force in alchemy 18 65.
• After obtaining the Flame Mantra, he activates a system-enhanced version that draws in surrounding energy without requiring a Heavenly Flame 88.
