Kakashi, hopeless about the future

In Konoha, atop the carved faces of Hokage Rock, Hiruzen Sarutobi gazed at the future Konoha on the Canopy Screen with heartfelt pride.

He took in the magnificent skyline, its towering buildings and glass facades reflecting starlight and city lights, with elevated Maglev Train tracks stretching like glowing ribbons.

"Truly remarkable."

"Kakashi, Naruto, you two will do even better than I imagined." He stroked his beard, an utterly contented smile spreading across his face.

"Lord First Hokage, Second Hokage, my teacher." Hiruzen Sarutobi lifted his head, as though speaking to his predecessors in the land of the dead.

"Can you see it? This is Konoha's future. Wherever leaves dance, fire burns on. Its light has illuminated the future, and it will only shine brighter."

In Konoha's forest, Sasuke Uchiha had just finished an extra training session when he looked up at the Canopy Screen.

His attention was immediately captured by his future self: tall, his black robe swaying, both arms resting at his waist, three swords at his hip, and a presence as steady as a mountain.

Yet this powerful version of himself was taking a stroll alongside Haruno Sakura?

Even more incomprehensible, his future self had actually reached out and taken the hand of that perpetually noisy girl who did nothing but chase after him!

He had even produced a ridiculous ring and carefully slipped it onto her finger!

The emotion in that version of himself's eyes was something Sasuke Uchiha could not understand at all—tenderness.
