The Chunin Written Exam

The Gundam's pink blade traced a perfect horizontal arc through the air, silently sweeping across the monster's neck.

At the same instant, the monster's massive tail pierced straight through the Gundam's cockpit.

Time seemed to freeze.

The monster's frenzied roar cut off. Its huge, still-struggling headless body went rigid for a moment, then toppled backward like a collapsing mountain.

Its hideous head tumbled through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.

At the sight, Deidara shouted, "Sasori!"

Just then, Sasori leaped out of the Gundam and landed beside the monster's remains with Deidara, who had rushed over.

"What are you yelling for? I'm a Digital Life. I can't die."

"Now let me see what these monsters really are."

As he spoke, Sasori took out a precision probe and connecting wires, then drove them into the still-warm stump of the monster's neck.

He closed his eyes. Streams of data raced across his visual system.

A moment later, Sasori's eyes snapped open. His usually calm voice carried an unprecedented gravity.

"Deidara, it looks like we're in serious trouble."

"What's going on, Sasori?"

"They aren't Summoning Beasts, and they aren't products of any biotechnology known to the Shinobi World."

"They got here using an Alien Civilization's Space Jump Technology."

"I saw glimpses of that civilization in its fragmented memories." Sasori pointed toward the sky. "In other words, they came from beyond our world."

"What? An Alien Civilization? Wasn't that just Orochimaru's science fiction? What do we do now, Sasori?"

Disbelief filled Deidara's face. After all, hardly anyone had ever seen an alien.

Sasori looked at Deidara and made the most levelheaded judgment he could.

"Our only option is to contact Konoha immediately. We need Naruto Uzumaki to call an emergency Five Kage Summit in his capacity as the Seventh Hokage."

"An invasion
