Kakashi Hatake paused briefly, his voice growing heavier.
"However, I found some problems with the details of the cleanup."
"They tried hard to conceal it, but the way they handled the traces and erased the Chakra residue involved techniques remarkably similar to those used by Konoha's ANBU and Root."
"Those techniques become muscle memory through years of rigorous training. They're extremely difficult to disguise or change completely."
Tsunade leaned back in her chair, her fingers tapping absently on the desk, her expression grim. "Are you saying the killer really is a Konoha ninja?"
Kakashi Hatake nodded slightly. "Judging by the traces at the scene, there's at least a ninety percent chance."
"To wipe out three Sunagakure Jonin and ten Chunin in such a short time..."
Tsunade considered this, her gaze sharpening. "There aren't many active Jonin in Konoha with that kind of strength who could do such a thing."
She turned to Shizune. "Shizune, discreetly check the whereabouts of every Jonin with that level of ability the night before last, especially those skilled in Taijutsu or possessing special abilities. Get solid proof."
"Yes, Lady Tsunade." Shizune accepted the order and immediately turned to retrieve the records.
"Kakashi," Tsunade said, looking back at him, "you can go. This matter is strictly confidential for now. Keep an eye on what's happening in the village, and report any irregularities directly to me."
"Understood." Kakashi used the Body Flicker Technique to leave the Hokage's Office.
On a Konoha street, Kakashi walked with his hands in his pockets, looking relaxed. In his mind, though, he kept replaying the details of the scene.
Those enormous rocks had fallen from the sky. A crushing attack of sheer, brutal force.
"Kakashi!" A spirited shout came from behind him. A green whirlwind swept past, and Might Guy appeared before
