The next morning, Yor woke with a start. Fragments of last night's chaos flooded back, especially the moment her fist struck Loid's face and he fell backward. She sprang out of bed.

She rushed into the living room without even putting on her slippers properly, her face full of fear and unease.
"Are you all right?! How's the injury? Does it still hurt? Should we go to the hospital—"

Kabuto Yakushi was already dressed and vacuuming the living room carpet.
He turned at the sound. A clean white gauze patch covered his left eye, secured at the edges with medical tape. It neatly concealed the swelling, leaving only his tightly pressed lips and uninjured right eye visible.
He looked less like his usual gentle self and more like a mysterious pirate.
"Good morning, Yor." Twilight switched off the vacuum cleaner, his tone as calm as ever, as though he had merely bumped into a doorframe. "I'm fine. It's a minor injury, and I've already treated it."

She hurried up to Twilight and stared at the stark white patch. Her eyes reddened at once, and her voice shook with guilt and panic.
"How can you call that minor? You're wearing an eye patch! It's my fault. I completely lost control last night! Loid, let's go to the hospital and get you properly checked. What if you have a concussion, or your retina—"
"There's really no need, Yor." Twilight interrupted her gently but firmly. "It looks worse than it is. And you don't need to blame yourself. Last night was an accident."
Just then, the living room phone rang, its clear chime breaking the heavy mood.
