Chapter Summaries

Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Damian, and the others were attacked by Dark Digimon while preparing to help Kagura stop a conspiracy against the Mizukage. After they fought their way through the ambush, the group became separated, and Mikoto Misaka and Mitsuki faced a new threat.

• Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Damian, Mikoto Misaka, and Jade argued over whether the exchange students should join Kagura's mission to protect the Mizukage.
• Damian rescued Anya from a skull-shaped blast, and DeathMeramon and other Dark Digimon surrounded the group.
• The young ninja and Mikoto Misaka combined their attacks, electrifying Jade's torrent of water and scattering the Digimon.
• Kagura and Jade broke through the opening and headed for the Mizukage Building, while Mikoto Misaka and Mitsuki followed separately.

Mikoto Misaka and Mitsuki split up to fight Mammothmon and MegaSeadramon as Kirigakure came under attack. Damian rescued Anya from Dark Digimon, but DeathMeramon confronted them, leaving Damian facing a much stronger enemy while Anya watched anxiously.

• Mammothmon confronted Mikoto Misaka and Mitsuki on shore as MegaSeadramon destroyed a Kirigakure warship, and the pair split up to fight them.
• Boruto and Sarada became lost in the burning alleys and encountered Soulmon among the bodies of dead Kirigakure Ninja.

Damian faced DeathMeramon while Anya warned him of its intent, and Aizen joined Moegi in battle against the Digimon attacking Kirigakure. Aizen persuaded Moegi to trust the children to face the crisis on their own, leaving them to continue fighting together.

• Damian steadied himself with Thunder Breathing and told Anya to hide after she warned him that DeathMeramon wanted to burn him to ashes.
• Moegi fought off waves of Digimon with Wood Style and Genjutsu, but the attackers began to surround her.
• Aizen arrived and killed several Digimon with his sword and Lightning Release: White Lightning.
• Moegi asked Aizen to help clear the monsters while they searched for the children, but he urged her to trust them to handle the crisis.
• Moegi regained her resolve and agreed that Boruto and the other children could surprise their elders with their courage and strength.

Moegi and Aizen fought the Dark Digimon Horde while Aizen assessed the battle at Blackstone Mountain and Kirigakure’s growing weakness. At Uncle’s Antique Shop, Uncle repelled nearby Digimon with a barrier and searched for a spell to counter the greater threat.

• Moegi and Aizen joined forces to battle the Dark Digimon Horde near the village.
• Aizen judged that Kirigakure’s Sannin could defeat Myotismon if they held out until dawn, while privately noting the invasion would leave the village weakened.
• A DemiDevimon crashed through Uncle’s Antique Shop window and threatened the antiques.
• Uncle used a Dried Pufferfish to raise an Evil-Repelling Barrier that destroyed Digimon touching it and drove the others away.
• Uncle sensed the dark power rising from Blackstone Mountain and searched his collection for a spell strong enough to stop it.

Kagura and Jade reached the Mizukage Building, where Chojuro was fighting six renegade Ninja Swordsmen. Kurosuki Shizuma tried to turn Kagura against Chojuro by invoking his Bloody Mist heritage, but Jade intervened with an attack.

• Kagura and Jade raced through Kirigakure toward the Mizukage Building after becoming separated from Boruto and the others.
• They found two wounded Chunin at the entrance and saw Chojuro fighting six renegade Ninja Swordsmen on the roof.
• Kagura charged to help Chojuro, but Kurosuki Shizuma blocked him and attacked with Samehada.
• Kurosuki Shizuma showed Kagura the scar Hiramekarei had left on him and urged Kagura to embrace the Bloody Mist's ideals and join the coup.
• Jade rejected Kurosuki Shizuma's claims and hurled explosive-tag Kunai at him with Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Claw Crimson.

Jade fought Hoshigaki Shichengzhen to let Kagura reach the wounded Chojuro, but Samehada devoured her Ninjutsu and began draining her Chakra through her weapons. The fight continued with Jade realizing conventional attacks would only strengthen or weaken her opponent.

• Jade urged Kagura to help the Mizukage and held off Hoshigaki Shichengzhen while Kagura ran toward Chojuro on the roof.
• Hoshigaki Shichengzhen unleashed Samehada by removing its bandages, revealing the sword’s monstrous form and hunger for Chakra.
• Jade attacked with Fire, Water, and Earth Release dragon techniques, but Samehada absorbed all three attacks.

• Hoshigaki Shichengzhen pressed Jade with Samehada, absorbing her Chakra and countering her attempts to escape or confuse him.

Damian struggled to hold off DeathMeramon while Boruto and Sarada fought Soulmon in Kirigakure. After Soulmon’s scythe grazed Sarada and injured her soul, Boruto fled with her but ended up trapped at a dead end with Soulmon closing in.

• DeathMeramon’s dark blue flames healed its wounds and absorbed much of Damian’s Lightning Release Chakra, leaving Damian struggling to find a way to protect Anya.
• Boruto and Sarada coordinated their attacks against Soulmon, but its scythe ignored ordinary defenses and gradually overwhelmed them.
• Sarada blocked an attack meant for Boruto, and Soulmon’s scythe grazed her left arm, leaving her in agony and severely weakened.
• Boruto carried Sarada away while a Shadow Clone tried to delay Soulmon, but Soulmon destroyed the clone and pursued them.
• Boruto reached a dead end, laid Sarada down by the wall, and turned to face Soulmon as it emerged from the mist.

Mikoto Misaka fought MegaSeadramon off Kirigakure Harbor, but her Railguns could not overcome its defenses. After MegaSeadramon swept her away with a tsunami, she realized she needed a stronger technique and searched for another way to defeat it.

• Mikoto Misaka hurled warship wreckage at MegaSeadramon and dodged its Lightning Javelins with magnetic control.
• Mikoto Misaka fired a maximum-power Railgun at MegaSeadramon's eye, but its water shield and tough scales kept it from taking a fatal injury.
• Mikoto Misaka launched repeated Railguns at MegaSeadramon's mouth, scales, and joints, scorching it without stopping its attack.
• MegaSeadramon struck the sea with its tail and sent a massive tsunami that swallowed Mikoto Misaka and hurled her into the harbor breakwater.

Mitsuki struggled to contain Mammothmon while worrying about Boruto and Sarada, then revealed his Sage Mode to end the fight quickly. The chapter left him facing Mammothmon’s launched tusks with a Sage Art.

• Mitsuki summoned Senjutsu Giant Pythons that blocked Mammothmon's Frost Tusks and restrained the beast.
• Mitsuki struck Mammothmon with Sage Art: Great Snake Lightning, destroying it in an explosion of charred data fragments.
• Mitsuki left Sage Mode and dropped to one knee, exhausted by the Chakra and stamina it had consumed.
• Mikoto Misaka rose on the harbor breakwater as MegaSeadramon prepared a stronger attack against her.
• Mikoto threw a specially made oversized Kunai into the air and charged it with electricity.
• Mikoto fired Railgun Modified: Iron Ball at MegaSeadramon.

Mikoto Misaka defeated MegaSeadramon with an overcharged Railgun, and she and Mitsuki rushed toward a colossal new threat rising in Kirigakure. Meanwhile, Damian continued defending Anya from DeathMeramon, which questioned why he refused to flee.

• Mikoto Misaka poured her remaining power into a dark red Railgun that overwhelmed MegaSeadramon's Lightning Javelin and destroyed it.
• Mitsuki helped the badly weakened Mikoto Misaka stand, and they prepared to search for their companions.
• A massive, terrifying entity rose from the smoke within Kirigakure, prompting Mitsuki and Mikoto Misaka to hurry toward it.
• Damian continued fighting DeathMeramon while shielding Anya, enduring its chains and flames as he counterattacked.
• DeathMeramon asked Damian why he did not flee, noting that Damian was fast enough to escape.

Damian found renewed resolve to face DeathMeramon, but Anya was struck while saving him from PicoDevimon’s sneak attack. As Anya lay injured, Damian turned back toward DeathMeramon with a concentrated resolve to kill.

• Damian declared that he would never abandon a comrade and steadied himself to face DeathMeramon again.
• Anya noticed PicoDevimon preparing to attack Damian from behind and rushed out to knock him aside.
• PicoDevimon’s Petit Devil Darts struck Anya, and it fled into the rubble after its attack was intercepted.
• Damian lifted the injured Anya, who cried and told him to run without her.
• Damian set Anya down, faced DeathMeramon, and compressed his Chakra as he prepared a sword-drawing attack.

Damian used Thunder Breathing: First Form—Thunderclap and Flash—Godspeed to kill DeathMeramon and rushed to Anya, believing she was badly hurt. Anya revealed that Yor and Kabuto Yakushi had given her a protective suit, and she celebrated Damian calling her his friend by planning a visit to his house with her whole family.

• Damian remembered Darui's advice to perfect one skill and used Thunder Breathing: First Form—Thunderclap and Flash—Godspeed to cut off DeathMeramon's head.
• Damian exhausted himself with the strike, then hurried to Anya and anxiously checked whether she was injured.

• Darui and Samui agreed to support the next generation, and A ordered them to create a “Thunder Sprouts” plan to find and cultivate children with Lightning Release talents.

Jade survived Hoshigaki Shichengzhen’s attack when Samehada turned against him, restored her Chakra, and accepted her as its master. After trapping Shichengzhen, Jade met Tailmon, who revealed an ancient oath to serve the Saint of the age.

• Samehada wounded Hoshigaki Shichengzhen and replenished Jade’s Chakra before choosing her as its master.
• Jade trapped Hoshigaki Shichengzhen with Earth Release techniques and left him for the Mizukage and Elder Ao to deal with.
• Samehada warned Jade of someone hiding among fallen columns, and Tailmon emerged from the shadows.
• Tailmon told Jade that it had served Myotismon as a facade while seeking the Saint destined to fight the returning darkness.

Jade learned that Tailmon believed she was a Saint and that defeating VenomMyotismon was necessary to end the invasion. Meanwhile, Kagura returned Hiramekarei to Chojuro, who defeated the five rogue Ninja Swordsmen, and Jade helped capture them.

• Tailmon swore loyalty to Jade and explained that defeating VenomMyotismon was the only way to end the Dark Army's invasion.
• Jade agreed to work with Tailmon and headed toward the Mizukage Building after the fighting there quieted.
• Kagura arrived to find Chojuro wounded and outnumbered, then threw him the Twin Swords Hiramekarei.
• Chojuro used Hiramekarei Release to defeat the five rogue Ninja Swordsmen and thanked Kagura for bringing him the swords.
• Jade arrived with Tailmon, announced that she had buried the leader downstairs, and bound the defeated swordsmen in stone.

Boruto summoned the Red-Eyes Black Dragon to defeat Soulmon and protect Sarada. After Soulmon was erased, Sarada regained consciousness in Boruto’s arms.

• Chojuro led Kagura and Jade, accompanied by Tailmon, toward the enormous entity that had appeared in Kirigakure.
• As Soulmon cornered Boruto and wounded Sarada, Boruto called desperately for power and heard a voice urge him to summon it.
• Boruto used the Summoning Technique to call down the Red-Eyes Black Dragon and climbed onto its head while holding Sarada.
• Boruto ordered the dragon to attack, and its Black Dragon’s Roar destroyed Soulmon completely.
• Sarada regained consciousness in Boruto’s arms and flusteredly asked him to put her down.

Boruto, Jade, and Tailmon joined Chojuro in flying toward the battle at Blackstone Mountain, while Kagura led the others to shelter. After the Canopy Screen footage ended, Mei Terumi and Ao reprimanded Chojuro for weak training and Ao for failing to prevent the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist’s uprising.

• Sarada awakened and learned that Boruto’s powerful Summoning Beast was the Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
• Chojuro ordered Kagura to take the others to safety, but Boruto and Jade volunteered to help at Blackstone Mountain, where Tailmon said she knew Myotismon’s weakness.
• Chojuro chose Boruto, Jade, and Tailmon to accompany him to the battlefield, while Kagura led the remaining companions toward the Mizukage Building shelter.
• The Red-Eyes Black Dragon carried Chojuro, Boruto, and Jade toward Blackstone Mountain as the footage ended.
• Mei Terumi scolded Chojuro for neglecting his training and relying too heavily on the Twin Swords Hiramekarei.

Mei Terumi reprimanded Ao and Chojuro before dismissing them, while Itachi and Kisame discussed Samehada’s independent nature. The Canopy Screen showed Boruto, Chojuro, and Jade arriving to help Smoker, Aokiji, and Akainu fight VenomMyotismon, leaving the battle at a stalemate.

• Mei Terumi told Ao and Chojuro that Kirigakure needed discipline, foresight, and responsibility, then sent them away to reflect.
• Itachi asked Kisame whether Samehada could betray its wielder, and Kisame explained that the sword had a mind of its own.
• Itachi considered that Samehada could choose a compatible wielder and privately thought Might Guy might be able to face Kisame through Taijutsu.
• On the Canopy Screen, Smoker, Aokiji, and Akainu struggled against VenomMyotismon as his Dark Energy weakened them and healed his wounds.
• Boruto arrived with Chojuro and Jade on the Red-Eyes Black Dragon, which struck VenomMyotismon with Inferno Fire Blast.
• VenomMyotismon blocked the dragon’s flames with a Dark Energy shield, and Chojuro, Boruto, and Jade landed beside the three exhausted fighters.
