Bai Xuan felt a flicker of interest at Li Manxiu's words.

Could he be Li Hongyou's older brother?

As he wondered, Li Hongyou suddenly descended from the sky and landed before them.

She glanced at Liu Mufei first, then turned to Li Manxiu and asked, "What are you doing here?"

"A mission."

Li Manxiu's answer was casual.

"Whose mission?"

Li Hongyou folded her arms across her chest, her tone demanding.

"That's none of your concern." Li Manxiu refused to indulge his younger sister. "All you need to do is cooperate with the Investigation Bureau's arrangements."

"Hmph!"

Li Hongyou pursed her lips and turned her gaze back to Liu Mufei. "I've taken care of what you asked me to do."

"Good."

Liu Mufei gave a slight nod, then looked at Li Manxiu. "There. You've seen her now."

"I'd have been better off not seeing her..." Li Manxiu sighed, then grew serious. "Back to business, Deputy Director Liu Mufei. I'm here to inform you of something."

"The higher-ups have decided to hand command of this operation to Lu Tai. He'll have full responsibility for dealing with the Da Qi Serpent."

"Oh? Have they? Wonderful. That makes things easier for me, too."

A trace of surprise flickered in Liu Mufei's beautiful eyes.
