The doors rose dozens of meters high, carved from a single block of unknown white stone. Countless ancient runes covered them, shimmering with golden light. An immense, sacred presence washed over him, as though another world lay beyond.
This was the seal left by the Olympian Gods, Themyscira's last barrier and the unshakable foundation of the Amazons' faith.
Across the distant square, every surviving Amazon warrior stopped. Fear and anger mingled on their faces with one last glimmer of hope.
Queen Hippolyta gripped the palace railing so tightly that her knuckles turned white. Diana, badly wounded by Link's punch, forced herself upright and gazed at the lone figure before the doors of the Holy Land.
They had witnessed that man's terrifying strength. He could tear through a formation of their finest warriors, and his body could withstand a volley of enchanted arrows. But the Temple of Hera was different. It did not belong to the mortal world. The gods protected it.
Mortal strength would ultimately fail against divine rules.
Link raised a hand and pressed it against the cold stone door.
He clearly felt a vast sea of energy surging behind it. The golden runes were like intricate locks, binding the door to the very earth of Themyscira, and even to space itself.
He drew a deep breath and unleashed the full power of the Man of Steel.
The muscles in his arm bulged, veins coiling beneath his skin like dragons.
"Open!"
With a low growl, he tried to push the door open through sheer physical strength.
Force enough to overturn a mountain bore down on the stone.
