Above him lay no stone ceiling, but a deep, slowly shifting starfield. Countless stars twinkled within it, forming ancient, unfamiliar constellations.
Soft light fell from the stars, illuminating the center of the Temple.
There, a golden sphere of light roughly ten meters across floated and slowly turned.
It looked like a nebula, with countless points of light appearing and vanishing within it, their paths inscrutable. It also resembled a living, breathing heart. Each pulse sent tides of energy through the entire space.
