Since becoming the laws of the universe, this was his first interstellar journey in a purely mortal body. There was no Boom Tube to carry him vast distances in an instant, no indestructible flagship, the Jokester—only this crowded, noisy civilian ship, its air thick with the smells of cheap nutrient paste and machine oil.
