Joanna stayed nestled in his arms. She had been looking back at Earth, but when she turned around, she found Lin Mo staring at the sun, looking far too comfortable to leave.

She studied the Yellow Sun, then turned and fixed her gaze on Lin Mo. She asked him a question.

"Lin Mo."

"Hmm?"

"Are you Jesus?"

Lin Mo froze for a moment.

"What?"

Back in the Vought Bunker, Joanna had read some stories about Jesus. She could not remember much else, but one line had stayed with her.

I am the light of the world.

She looked at the sun, then at Lin Mo. He looked so comfortable in the sunlight. Maybe he had some connection to the sun. She remembered how he liked sunbathing whenever he had the chance.

Maybe?

Maybe Lin Mo was her Jesus.

When Lin Mo heard her explanation, he could only laugh.

"What kind of logic is that?"

"Besides, by that logic, Jesus wasn't even as powerful as us."

"Why?" Joanna did not understand. Jesus was God's son, after all. Surely he wasn't that weak.

"He couldn't fly."

Lin Mo said it as though the answer were obvious.

"If he could, he wouldn't have ended up nailed to a cross."

Joanna frowned and thought it over seriously. He seemed to have a point. After a moment of silence, she reached a conclusion.

"Then God must have abandoned him."

Joanna raised her head and looked at Lin Mo.

"And chosen you."

Lin Mo laughed. That was not necessarily true. Just because there was no God in this world did not mean there was none in other worlds. Who knew what God would think if He heard Joanna say that?

Lin Mo extended a finger and gently nudged her forehead.

"Careful. He might hear you."
