Shrek sent Jing Ling out first.
His left leg had been injured in the Canyon, but after several days of treatment, it had healed. An Agility Attack fighter had no advantage against a Power Attack fighter. Tang San had sent him out without demanding that he defeat Huo Wushuang.
"Keep him busy on his right side. Don't take a head-on charge," Tang San said. "Last as long as you can."
Jing Ling nodded and strode into the arena.
Huo Wushuang had already waited through an entire match, anger smoldering in his chest. The moment the referee stepped back, he completed his Single-Horned Fire Tyrannosaurus Martial Soul Possession. Dark red scales covered his right arm as he charged straight at Jing Ling.
Jing Ling did not meet him head-on. He slipped past Huo Wushuang's right side, his bone claws scraping a few sparks from the scales. After that single strike, he withdrew and used his speed to circle the arena.
Huo Wushuang chased him several times without once touching him.
Then his fourth Spirit Ring lit up. Flames surged from the ground, forcing Jing Ling into one corner. Huo Wushuang seized the opening, turned, and slammed into him. His dragon arm struck the arms Jing Ling had crossed over his chest.
Jing Ling slid across the boundary. He took three steps back after landing before he steadied himself.
His arms were numb, but he smiled. "I left three cuts on his right ribs."
"I saw." Tang San handed him a Recovery Sausage. "Well done."
The next draw went to Spirit Hall Academy.
One of its team members had barely reached the boundary before conceding again. Huo Wushuang gave Shrek no time to catch its breath, and Huang Yuan soon stepped up to face him.
Huang Yuan was better at fighting head-on
