"Hmm, from the way you speak, have we met somewhere before?"

Hearing Mo Bai's familiar tone, Charon asked in his aged voice.

"Oh, we've done more than meet. You were practically my 'benefactor.'"

Mo Bai spread his hands helplessly.

His experiences with the Remnant Star Society had certainly taught him a great deal.

"Hmm. I may look old, but I can still tell when someone means the opposite of what he says."

Charon snapped his fingers, and the enormous book behind him vanished.

Mo Bai could tell at a glance that it was Christopher's handiwork.

It seemed that even though traces of Mo Bai's former existence had been erased, Scar was still rotting in prison.

"Of course I know. You're obsessed with playing roles. You've always loved putting on an act. You may look like an old man, but you're more like a brat with a nasty sense of humor."

Mo Bai sounded as though he were chatting with an acquaintance. There was no hint of resentment in his voice.

"Heh. If you know me so well, then you should know what I'm about to do, shouldn't you?"

Tap.

As he spoke, Charon lightly touched his cane to the ground.

"Mm. Same as before. You're here to investigate me, the 'unexpected' variable."

Clap.

After answering, Mo Bai brought his hands together and formed a hand sign.

Whoosh—

"..."

But neither of them made a move inside the Voidmatter Magnetic Storm.

Not until...

Crackle—

Thud!

A small arc of electricity flickered through the Void Matter in the storm. Charon kicked off the ground and lunged at Mo Bai.

That's some explosive physical strength.

Mo Bai showed no panic as his enemy closed in.

He caught the cane between the hands forming his sign, then murmured the name of his Shikigami.
