"Chirp, chirp~"
As usual, Mo Bai woke to the racket of the fat bird outside his window.
But when he looked out, the familiar blue figure was nowhere to be seen.
If I'd known, I wouldn't have gotten up so early...
Without Gabriella watching over him, Mo Bai had no desire to attend a morning class.
Phew.
But perhaps because he had been heading out with Gabriella so often lately, morning classes had become a habit.
Or was he afraid Gabriella might be watching from somewhere and catch him slacking off?
Either way, he got up and headed for the Academy's teaching building.
Pat.
On the way, someone tapped Mo Bai on the shoulder.
He instinctively looked back, but no one was there. When he turned around again, Lynae had already slipped nimbly to his side.
"Huh? Where's Gabriella today?"
After their earlier high-speed ride, Lynae had gotten to know Gabriella too.
Lynae could make friends with anyone. Forget a week—even a single day was more than enough for her to get along with someone.
It was hard to imagine how someone so naturally cheerful had kept that side of herself in check back in the New Federation.
Then again, that showed just how awful the New Federation's environment was.
It had driven even a sunny girl like Lynae into that state.
"Hey, I'm talking to you."
Seeing Mo Bai space out, Lynae waved a hand in front of his face.
"I'm listening. My teacher was never part of the Academy. She'll leave after testing me this afternoon."
Mo Bai helplessly pushed her hand away.
"What? She's leaving?" Lynae exclaimed.
She wasn't surprised by what Mo Bai called Gabriella, though.
She sometimes skipped afternoon classes to watch Gabriella train Mo Bai, so she already knew they were teacher and student.
