Ellen's hair hung in disarray, and her metal armor was battered to pieces.
Her Connection Suit was riddled with holes, barely covering what mattered.
Blood covered her body and still dripped to the ground.
The cool, noble air she had carried before was gone.
All that remained was a face drawn with exhaustion.
"What... You actually..."
Shido muttered in disbelief.
Tohka followed close behind, pointing at Ellen with wide eyes.
"Why won't you just die already?!"
Hearing such a savage remark from someone as beautiful as a spirit drew a wry smile from Shido.
Ellen answered Tohka's challenge.
"I'm the strongest Wizard... How could something like this kill me? But Shido Itsuka—that attack of yours did do a number on me..."
Despite her words, her voice sounded terribly weak.
Her body swayed as though she might collapse at any moment.
Ellen glanced at the display projected onto her retinas. Shido's last strike had left Pendragon with a staggering ninety-nine percent total damage.
If she had not used the remaining one percent to form a Territory and suppress her wounds and pain,
she might truly have fallen from that blow, perhaps even died.
Fortunately, luck was still on her side.
Ellen had survived, and she could still move to some extent.
In her current state, she could no longer raise her Light Sword to attack Shido Itsuka and Princess.
But that hardly mattered. She had a backup plan!
The Capture Fails
Even though she could barely stay on her feet, Ellen was still certain she would win.
"They should be here about now..."
Ellen checked the time projected onto her retinas and murmured to herself.
As if in answer, a sound came from the forest not far from the beach.
