The oppressive weight of industry was evident everywhere. The heavy iron gates had collapsed in the explosions, and a thick gray haze shrouded the towering two-story factory. The ubiquitous pipes and cables had been damaged in countless places. Alongside the workers' corpses, unfinished Iron Warriors littered the floor.
The technology used to manufacture the Iron Warriors was a mystery-an enigmatic technology Archduke Takkus had brought back from Kara-Tur. Nobody knew how the Iron Warriors were made or controlled. All anyone knew was that these mass-produced war machines had stunned the people of Baldur's Gate, even prompting discussions about disbanding most of the Watchers and the Flaming Fist.
Now, an uninvited guest had arrived at the manufacturing plant.
The five-year-old Wolf Child Ana carried his greatsword, Stormfang, over his shoulder. He had sensed his brother's presence inside the enormous factory, and it made him frown. Striding through the ruined iron gates, he discovered that someone else had already arrived.
A Sun Elf noblewoman stood outside the entrance to the core chamber. The air reeked of steam, coal, and electrical scorching. At the sight of the newcomer, confusion flickered in the noblewoman's eyes.
"Who are you?"
"A debt collector," said Ana, Dorn's reincarnation. "I've come to collect what I'm owed."
"A debt? How surprising. So Archduke Takkus did pay some price for the technology to manufacture the Iron Warriors?" The Sun Elf noblewoman's eyes immediately lit up. She asked tentatively, "Do you know how to make them?"
"Takkus owes me nothing. My debtors are Balduran and Baldur's Gate." Ana had no patience for wasting words with the Sun Elf noblewoman. "Now move aside, or I won't show you any mercy, mind flayer!"
Exposed by Ana, the Sun Elf noblewoman was forced to reveal his true form-the
