The spectators didn't hold back their applause.
They cheered for Neji Hyuga and Hinata Hyuga.
Seeing Neji Hyuga struggle to his feet,
Gekko Hayate came over to examine him, as usual,
and found that his Chakra could no longer flow.
That made sense.
After taking so many blows from the Gentle Fist,
the Chakra points across his body had probably all been sealed.
With that,
Gekko Hayate stood up.
"The match is over."
"I declare Hinata Hyuga the winner!"
At his words, thunderous applause rang out again.
Under everyone's gaze, Hinata Hyuga and Neji Hyuga slowly left the arena.
"Well done, Hinata."
"I'm very pleased with how you performed today."
A faint smile of satisfaction appeared on Hyuga Hiashi's face.
His eldest daughter
had seemed to come into her own ever since becoming a Genin.
Not only had her strength grown enormously, but she no longer hesitated in battle.
Today, she had brought the Hyuga Clan glory in front of so many people.
It had been a long time since the Hyuga Clan
had shown everyone the strength expected of one of the Noble Shinobi Clans.
Today, Hinata Hyuga had done it.
As her father,
Hyuga Hiashi felt proud, too.
"Thank you for your praise, Father."
Hinata Hyuga spoke softly at his words.
She had lost count of how many times her father had smiled at her like that.
Ever since she received the Diary,
the stern father she had once known had disappeared.
"Neji, you performed well, too."
"With the two of you in the Hyuga Clan, I can rest easy."
Hyuga Hiashi praised Neji Hyuga as well.
But
Neji Hyuga didn't answer him. Instead, he looked at Hinata Hyuga.
"How did this happen?"
"How were you able to beat me?"
"My talent is clearly far greater than yours!"
