Seven Days to Mass Production, Shocking the Tear Knights

On the morning of the seventh day, the pilot Workshop's doors opened. The first thing everyone saw was the Portable Steam Repeating Crossbows filling the long tables.

Nearly all hundred craftsmen and apprentices were present, standing quietly with their groups on either side of the finished goods area.

Many had sweaty palms. Their gazes shifted between the crossbows on the tables and the inspectors about to enter the Workshop.

For seven days, they had worked from dawn until late at night without stopping, all for today's inspection.

To these low-ranking craftsmen, who rarely received any attention, the finished weapons were more than a batch of arms. They would determine whether their seven days of work were formally recognized. They were also a way to repay Lord Shien's kindness.

Shien, by contrast, stood before the crowd, his expression calm.

He had believed they could do it from the start of the trial. Now all that remained was for the people of Tear Knight City to see the result for themselves.

When Vane entered the Workshop, his question about their output died on his lips.

The number before him had already exceeded what he had expected from a seven-day trial.

Lorenz entered next, followed by two apprentices and a clerk from the Workshop Directorate.

A clerk from the Armaments Directorate, a supervisor from the Workshop Directorate, a Storage District liaison, and a Cleric sent by Adrian arrived soon after.

Some of them had read the daily briefings and knew the pilot Workshop had changed.

Others had paid little attention. They had expected to inspect a few prototypes and see whether Blackpine craftsmen could lead Tear Knight City's low-ranking craftsmen in making complex equipment.

But once they stood inside the Workshop, their steps slowed. The sight was staggering.
